With the kernel supporting NFS/CIFS filesystems, I am confused aren't these network communication protocols for File Servers? Does this kernel allow mounting of Network Shares? Sorry for my ignorance in this area...
Thanks for attaching this. I believe that patch will work after updating it. I think the interface has changed slightly as well. I also think it is worth coordinating with LolliRock since he is interested in doing the same thing.I found a patch that probably wont apply cleanly that sets external usb webcams as internal cameras but its for eclair:

I'll definately be adding support for your rom, right now awaiting a new mobo from newegg then I'll use abootimg and throw in your changes, but if you like feel free to do that now if you have the time, It'll be 4-7 days until I get my developer box back upHi defconoi, i'm full open in collaboration. You are doing a great work on kernel. If you want you can manage all the kernel part also of LolliRock firmware.
My intention is only to transform the Nexus Player in the best device ever for TV, following Google Android standards. I need a good Nexus device for TV in wich all apps made with standard Android Api can work well. Not like chinese company that destroy many original AOSP android parts.
So, open my ramdisk part and let me know if you can add without problems your kernel.
The libhoudini.so stuff in default.prop is important for arm compatibility. And i added also mtp,adb functionality.
Let me know if you want that i add your kernel in my ramdisk, or you want do all by yourself and publish also your kernel with ramdisk part of LolliRock.
I repeat, all my works are for the community. I want only a standard, pure Android AOSP device for TV that is not very different from standard AOSP source code.
All my work is your work when you want and this is valid for all.
I use this program: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.selinuxWhat program do you recommend for setting Linux to permissive? I tried terminal emulator but it told me I was denied access (rooted with unleashed kernel) thanks for the awesome kernel
hey i'm about to update this kernel to support lollirock as well, did you make any init changes for the /dev/video0?With the last v7 version, when i connect the usb webcam, i can't find /dev/video0 or /dev/video*
instead with my old version i can, but this is necessary to have the webcam video HAL working.
this is my .config i hope you can compare and merge.

Sure , the ramdisk is inside my boot image. I suggest to get my ramdisk + your kernel image, in this way you can full support also lollirock.hey i'm about to update this kernel to support lollirock as well, did you make any init changes for the /dev/video0?
yesHowdy, I'm eager to give this a shot as the NP does seem pokey at times. Is there an easy way to go back to stock just in case? Would flashing the boot.img file from the stock image work? Or would I need to wipe?
Thanks to defconoi for all your work!
if you are rootedCan we use an app like flashify or if there's another option to flash this kernel boot image without unplugging everything and taking it to my desktop and running ADB from there?
