USB OTG Improvements?
Ok, so I'm not sure if this is a function of kernel or what but I'll post here with the request and maybe you guys can help identify if it's a kernel issue or not?
I purchased two Inateck HBU3VL3-4 USB 3.0 hub with gigabit ethernet. The Ethernet portion of the device initially did not work with a micro usb to full usb adapter, but the usb's did work. Following some instructions from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/general/howto-100m-ethernet-np-t2954475/page2, I plugged in Ethernet cable, turned the device off, plugged it in the back of the player, booted into recovery and restarted and woila! this worked!!!
The problem though is this has worked exactly ONCE. As you know during testing and things, we wipe and reset etc etc. After a reset, I CANNOT get either dongles to connect via Ethernet at all. I'm wondering if this is a software issue in the Kernel somewhere? Forgive me I'm not a programmer. Why on earth would a USB dongle require a reboot into recovery is beyond me in the first place, but it worked ONCE.
My router, wire etc all are fine, as I have tested an eliminated everything else. I'm also having a hard time believing it's a hardware issue, since the problem only started after resetting and the neither of the devices work on Ethernet. They both work fine with external thumb drives so the USB portion is functioning.
