1 word, powerHal. Project butter (aka jellybean) uses powerHal to control CPU behaviors from the ROM, but most of the implementations are crappy because they hard coded the frequency jumps and aren't flexible and/or too aggressive (in our case). Until I hack my own powerHal to replace the default one, this is normal stock behavior.

Ah, that explains it (sort of, off to research powerHal). Weird that they chose rom to control it some of the cpu functions. Well, I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. Thanks for reply.

Just did a clean flash of room and kernel...still have deep sleep as an unused step...very odd. I rebooted and wiped dalvik.
Are you on WiFi or using network data? For some reason I noticed that on Wi-Fi I was getting deep sleep but on data I wasn't

More than likely is a rogue app though

I think i had a hangup in the market installs, every time i rebooted another app or two would pop up on my homescreen, even though they were already installed, im getting deepsleep now, but im going to try shaky's kernel.

hi there!

just wanted to say that battery life is great with intellidemand!

faux, you might check out shaky156's kernel https://twitter.com/shaky153/status/273042339566592000 , as it provides a great improvement in performance!

big thanx for all your work!
Not sure how others are getting such great performance from this kernel.....benchmarks fell apart on it for me. Back to Faux's fabulous kernel! :)

I think he is mistaken the performance increase as being kernel related, when, in reality, it is likely due to the updated antutu.

Im referring to people getting over 18K on Antutu....I managed just 14k with Shaky's and 16 with Faux's.

I haven't heard of any issues with touchscreen. Point me to the right direction and I may look at it.

Early on some were measuring touch sensitivity and found it much less sensitive than the Gnex and Nexus 7. I have yet to hear anyone complain about actual issues when using the device.

It might be not the most sensitive display, so if you have very thick dry skin you might experience a bit of problem, but in general it's good enough.

Here's a thread on the subject.

I have a galaxy nexus and a nexus 7 and I do agree that the touch screen sensitivity on the nexus 4 is less than those 2 devices.

Pocketnow talks about it in the their galaxy nexus vs nexus 4 comparison video.

005 on any governor, including intellidemand, makes the phone seem a little choppier than stock kernel for me, just bringing the fluidity to attention. Haven't done any personal benchmarks though. I'm sure when you are able to hack the PowerHAL it will be even more fluid than stock, also with better battery life! Been using your kernels on the Gnex, HOX, and now N4! Faux is definitely the best kernel dev imo!
