Intellidemand + eco mode still has too much of a performance rift with on demand. Probably cuz it's stuck at the lower frequencies for too long

you are comparing 4 cores to 2 cores :p
I have installed the latest beta4, and have problems again with not getting to deep sleep. I loaded reset kernel, and back to beta4 and nothing is different. I looked at BetterBatteryStats, and see the PowerManagerService is always working, and may be causing the problem. I looked at my logcat, and the only thing I see problematic is "E/PowerHAL( 561): Error opening /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/intellidemand/sampling_rate: Permission denied" . Is this a problem? What else should I check?
Thanks.

Actually looking at that periodic error more closely, I do not even have a intellidemand directory under cpufreq.

Hey faux,

So I did exactly what you said...wiped cache, dalvik, and flashed the fix. Then, booted up, turned off, recovery, wipe, flash beta 4.

EDIT: Deep Sleep is now working! Thanks!

faux kernel

has anyone gotten improved battery life? i would love to see screenshots of what you guys may be doing? thanks everyone . and one question does this kernel, negate the fact that because of project butter, anytime you touch the screen it hikes the cpu to 1026mhz? waking the cpu like that, although for performance is great, has to kill the battery, im using the matrix kernel, and someone posted on there, that faux kernel negates that, which would be awesome. i am more concerned about battery life. i use set cpu to set max to 1026mhz and it runs just fine for me. thanks guys i appreciate all your help, and faux thank you for always making awesome kernels, ive used yours in almost all my previous devices.

Could someone explain mpdecision? I've googled to no success.....

Faux said a couple times already.

It is essentially the "project butter" governor. It is somewhat essential except with intellidemand. Intellidemand has its own version of "mpdecision effect" so it is not needed and causes more trouble than good.

1. You can use sideload from within clockworkmod. IN CWM menu select install from sideload.
2. Connect USB from phone to PC and using command prompt change directory to where adb is installed. (see 4)
3. I use Google Nexus 4 ToolKit Which installs adb to C:\Google Nexus 4 ToolKit
4. Windows Command prompt as administrator type "CD C:\Google Nexus 4 ToolKit"
5. in command box type "adb-toolkit sideload nameofzip.zip"

It will flash the Kernel or ROM you require.
Edit- Or just use Google Nexus toolkit to install TWRP kernel for file manager :)
Does anyone know why koush removed USB mounting in cwm? Side loading is cool and all but only BC its our only option lol

The battery difference between 001-004 is amazing. Thanks for maximizing the control we can have over the CPUs erratic behavior, that seems to have been the major culprit of the battery.

I am currently on a charge that is on pace to reach 5hour screen on.

I figured it out and didn't have to do with kernel but with MMS problem I was having. And I can sleep well again.

Hi!

Flashed this ROM when I got my phone in the mail yesterday. I like everything so far and I think I'll continue to use it with faux's kernel.

My process of installing the ROM was: 1)wiping everything (cache, data, etc), 2) installing ROM, 3) installing the latest gapps, 3) installing kernal

I got two questions that I can't seem to figure out.

1) I can not enable the dark theme on the Messaging app in the settings.

2) I can not install any add-on dictionaries through the settings on the ASOP keyboard. (ex: emoji and English (US)). They will download when you choose to install them. However, when you tap refresh on the bottom, the dictionary is available to download again like it was never installed. Typing 'snow' to get a snowflake emoji doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
This isn't a ROM. Its a kernel. Also, both of those issues are ROM related and should be directed in the thread relating to that ROM.

Give it a day or two to settle down.

I still see cpu1 going to 1.5 now and again faux. Snake is stronger than charmer still. Although very very very rarely.
