Kernels causing reboots? Or is it something else

The JG8 is an Eclair modem, not Froyo. Its purpose is to use at the beginning of an install from stock JF6. Once you have the rom and kernel you want, you need to replace it with a Froyo (suggest JPP) modem.

Don't leave yourself running a Froyo (i.e. Shep) rom with an Eclair modem, you are just asking for trouble.
I was running the JPP modem after doing the stock JF6 trick and I was still getting reboot issues with any ROM (JPA DocRambone, Tayutama's 1.0.3, and another with the JPM fw)

On my way to work I took the scenic route (just did a lot of suspension mods, yay) and I went into Airplane mode and never got 1 reboot. In my previous thread I mentioned which modem I was using.

I flashed to the XXJM4 modem (2.1 eclair modem) and even though you're saying the JG8 modem shouldn't be used on a 2.2 kernel I want to try something new out. I've tried most of the 2.2 modems in the I9000 fw's and I've had reboot problems. For lunch I'll take another drive and see if this version causes reboots.

*edit* So after driving around with the JM4 modem I couldn't get a 3g+ connection so it stayed on Edge while I drove (but didn't reboot)

What CSC are the people who AREN'T having problems running? I downloaded SGS Toolbox to get the access code for CSC version.
