Key Plus - Change LG G4 Volume key shortcuts to any app (without root)

I went ahead and got my wife a G4 and I installed Key Plus on hers. The volume up button is now a double click away from calling me when she needs it!

It will install fine and load the apk fine, but when I select what I want my shortcut for Vol Up changed to (wanted to make it PlayerPro) it just acts like it has been disabled. The only app I can select and have it work with is the default app (Memo+).

Oh well, seemed cool and theory and glad it works for others, guess that is just my lucky though, lol.

I had that because I had uninstalled quickmemo+. Reinstall that to fix. Also, make sure that app is a device administrator.

Nice app, I left it on the default flashlight. Anything is better than quickmemo.

I'm just wondering if that's related to being able to work when the phone is unlocked, or if it won't work at all?

Did it work for you eventually? If not, is QuickMemo+ loading correctly for you, when you press Volume Up. Also what is your model?

Administrator access is necessary to relock your phone after you turn off the flashlight. Otherwise only the screen will be off, while the device is effectively awake without being locked.

This is what I was hoping to add! I had it on a rooted/jb iPhone 4s with Activator.. but no go on Android so far.

I would set up-down for Back, down-up for Forward, both buttons pressed toggled Play/Pause. This worked in *any* audio app. Made the phone more functional/safer in the car.

WAIT, what?! PlayerPro does this natively/unrooted? sweet!

I have annoying problem. When I try to take a fast picture with volume down it occasionally not responding, when I uninstall the app everything works fine.

That should not happen. The app cannot intercept Volume down button at all on Android 5.0+ and therefore it shouldn't make a difference whether it is installed or not.

I don't get this (intended) behavior to work with PlayerPro, or some others that say they do the same. I think this will work out for me when someone roots G4 :\

There is an audio app that you can shake directionally to skip back/fwd and face down to pause.. buuut its also hideous.

But for me it didn't show all apps in the list, all the way down till the app "Link2SD" no more apps are showing after !
Any Idea why ?
tried restart, reinstall and nothing, just showing those only apps..

Some people have reported this to happen when there are too many apps installed on the phone. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to fix it.

Hello friends, I am Naveen Naushad, an indie Android developer from India. I developed this app for G3, with which you can change the Volume button launch apps when the phone is locked, that too without root access.

A user tested it on T-Mobile G4 and confirmed it is working correctly. You will be able to modify the Volume Up action to toggle flashlight, launch a different app (instead of QuickMemo+) or even open a custom launcher shortcut. Unfortunately Volume Down cannot be changed as LG hardcoded it to launch camera, starting from Lollipop. Most people are ok with that as they need to change QuickMemo+ only.

Not working for me. First time I tried it I think something flashed uo but now I can't get it to work. Nothing happens at all.

UPDATE: my fault, I'd uninstalled quick memo and not realised. All working now.
