Hello guys, I've been searching and searching, still not sure if I'm doomed!
Was nicely rooted, with safestrap and backups of stock and cm11 (nandroid), then root got lost so I tried to reboot with towelroot and then kingroot, neither worked, then something went wierd so I rebooted. Safestrap screen shows up after grey logo, but says safestrap disabled. Offers recovery or continue, if I choose recovery, the screen just goes black, if I choose continue it goes grey.
Is there any hope for me or is it dead?
Please let me know, I thought I was being so careful, backing everything up etc. If it's dead I just have to get another and move on.

Thank you all for any help!

If you can't access Safestrap it doesn't look good. What did you do that "root got lost" - root's not something that just leaves?
Btw which Fire OS & Safestrap versions do you use? Was CM11 in a secondary or the stock slot?

Well I'm not sure how it went, but I was trying to install play store, so i tried to copy the vending.apk to system/app, but this seemed to be locked (said no room), changed permissions to rw etc, no luck, checked root with root checker, said problem with root (although i could enable root access on es file explorer)
So i tried to reroot. Then went into safestrap apk ,checked safestrap installed (but said no safe image installed or something),so tried to boot into recovery from there, and that's where i got stuck.
I now seem to be able to get into fastboot mode and do some things with adb, but get this when trying to get to shell

I was on 4.5.2 and safestrap 4.0.1

Not sure what I can do

I tried rerooting with HDX 8.9 root & follow jcase instructions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2542456.

Again, get to

Any hope?:(

Don't have a solution but will comment that the actions you took were totally unnecessary and risky on a locked device - especially a finicky HDX. As you learned Safestrap does little to insulate you from the realities of the underlying firmware.
