So would you let a convicted murderer back in to your house after she promises to not bring her knife this time?

Gullible Much?
Surely what has happened here cannot be equal to a murder! And I find it interesting that the murderer has been cast as a female...
In any case, to my understanding it has not been shown that there was, on the part of Kingo, any ignoble intention to harvest IMEI and serial numbers. It seems rather that a vulnerability was put to good use in order to root the devices.
Has there been any announcement by Kingo?

XDA already commented on it in one of the kingroot threads. A mod explained it, said there was a new version of the root software coming that would be called 2.0. That's apparently the version that will eliminate the shady findings. What else will they add tho? Why is it taking so long to remove something that doesn't need to be there in order to root the phone?

can you provide a list of the APK's you are finding installed after the root.
There's a thread somwhere I'm the xperia z1 thread I believe. One of them is mtkcamera I saw it pop up In the Google verify thingy when i re rooted after the ota. I don't know if it actually installed because I can't find it even with Titanium Backup nor can I find whatever the other apk was. Others say they can and they just delete it. For all we know these apks could somehow in some crazy way be part of this exploit but i doubt it. I honestly think if this was such a big deal and everyone is so concerned about each other on here that SOMEONE would have picked the process apart by now to figure out what is going on.

Edit: just found out that the mtkcamera apk actually IS part of the exploit.

Edit 2: the other is diaggetroot. Also part of the exploit.

Why do you assume the murderer to be female? Women troubles my friend?

Of course that would be the obvious claim from the developers. But has the code been confirmed by independent sources to do NOTHING ELSE?

Why do you assume women can only be in the kitchen?

Gender equality my friend.

Diaggetroot has been around for a year. It was part of the exploit for the HTC j butterfly.

So if we delete those files, the root function may not work?

Exactly. I'm under the impression they are removed after rthe exploit has taken place. Some people still have them some don't. I think its a matter of the one click not doing its job 100% and not removing them occasionally. Check with Titanium backup but they are probably not on your phone any longer.

The problem was mostly that they saved your phones Imei and didn't disclose that nor disclose the exploit or source for the exploit. That made everyone worry. I can't say whether you or I are safe as I have no clue. I'm not too worried myself. It's all up to you to decide if your comfortable knowing that there always a potential issue waiting to pop up.
