Kingo didn't do that. Explain in detail what you have installed and what you've installed after rooting. Also, download Advanced Task Killer from the market by ReChild. It's free. I've used it since the T-Mobile G1, Note 1, Note 2, and now Note 3. Best application by far that saves battery life in my humble opinion. I've tried greenify and it wasn't that great as people hyped it. First kill everything with it including the advanced task killer itself. Then reopen and start UN checking all apps that keep trying to reopen and leave them alone because you don't want to kill apps that keep trying to auto start; this kills battery like crazy. The best thing is to debloat or freeze unneeded apps like all the AT&T garbage and some unnecessary Samsung apps. Then use task killer killing off what doesn't open by itself. That way you free up a lot of memory and stop certain apps that keep using your data when open. Another feature is to let the program do the main ones for you with the auto ignore list function. So nobody has found anything running since using kingo? My phone will not sleep at all since rooting with it. Died today less than 12 hours with only 50 minutes screen on time. It's terrible

I appreciate the reply, but I'm not new to android and battery life. I've virtually uninstalled a d frozen everything. There is a wakelock, sometimes it is more than one. Android OS has always kept my phone awake for large amounts of time but the battery life was ok and screen on time was always close to 5 hours. There is something going on and it's just funny it started when I ran kingo.Kingo didn't do that. Explain in detail what you have installed and what you've installed after rooting. I've had exceptionally better battery after rooting and freezing all the extra crap in don't use.I appreciate the reply, but I'm not new to android and battery life. Yep. This is a common answer when people talk about results that are different from their own. A lot of people have had excellent results, some haven't. Not all phones/situations are the sameI've had exceptionally better battery after rooting and freezing all the extra crap in don't use.

Agreed. But I think its proof enough that its not kingo. If it was something kingo was doing we would all have the problem.Yep. Agreed. I get incredible battery life but once or twice my battery has gone down rapidly. Could have been a particular live wallpaper or some rogue app I installed. I wouldnt blame Kingo. I know thats the first thought for most.Agreed. But I think its proof enough that its not kingo. If it was something kingo was doing we would all have the problem.

From Kingoapp Facebook page left by them 14 hoiurs ago:I'd rather expect to see an official announcement, maybe in this thread even, by mods, to the effect that the new version is around and has been or is being checked. Or is the ban on posting the links on XDA permanent?

I know what you're saying and as I've mentioned before. I didn't just go ballistic as soon as I rooted, I didn't change a thing at first aside from adaway. I started freezing and uninstalling after noticing the problem.Hey Rippley,
freezing many apps does not automatically mean, that your battery life will get better... There are lot of dependencies between apps, services and providers and freezing the wrong apk could be the cause for the mentioned wakelocks... The reason may be functions that aren't able to sleep, because they continously try to reconnect to a missing service or provider... That could explain the correlation with the kingo root process too...
In my case I have an incredible battery life after rooting... I think I got around 30%-50% additional screen time...
But like the most of you, I'm doubtful concerning kingo, because they combine a professional web page and a professional communication with closed source functions and privacy problems... I did a lot of research on my phone with different process/network monitors and comparisons to other smartphones... I didn't find any suspicious behaviour, but maybe kingo uses an exploit (or a stealth technique) which is nearly invisible for the Android OS...
What is your experience?
You're very welcome. Sorry, I was tired late last night when replying to a bunch of threads including yours trying to help people. I missed the amount of posts that you have 3000+ (you're an xda veteran, lol). Figured you'd know your stuff.I appreciate the reply, but I'm not new to android and battery life. You're right. GSAM battery is a good source for also checking wake locks and how much percentage something is eating at your battery in more detail than stock from what I remember. Yeah, it sucks to be in that minority with a unit that goes wacky after doing nothing special. Times like this, it would be nice to have cleanrom or be able to flash perseus kernel, etc. Then, I know your battery life would get better. Patience is a virtue, I guessYep.
