Kingroot success rate -- post yours or dont, but really you should. really. (please?)

I am just curious if anyone has had luck with kingroot on android 5.0 or 5.1? Please post as follows:

model: xt1096 or...
android version: 5.1.1 OTA or ...
rooted? no
rooted via kingroot: no
tried desktop and apk: both.

Kingroot touts they are the first to root 5.1 , anyone tried it out yet? I am trying it while i type, will report back

Tried 4 times app and failed. no desktop try because this is useless.. We are screwed up.
