Lollipop would be really nice! But not the buggy 1st release, 5.1 or higher...

To "fix the keyboards FCs I had to remove the keyboard apk, only using another keyboard did not help for me.
Additional wiht latest april build logcat spams with many
Code:
W/SchedPolicy(7397): add_tid_to_cgroup failed to write '<random>' (Permission denied); policy=0

Hi Quarx, thx again for the incredible amount of effort and time you spent on improving this awesome little phone.
My Defy has been running as my daily driver for 3+ years by now, and it's still doing its job perfectly. I'm running 4.4 and I'm very happy with it.
I think that perfecting KitKat is by now the most appropriate thing to do.
Thanks again, bye

One last question. I am using cm7. Do u have to do this repartitioning before installing 23/9? And just to be sure, this is defy+ or defy build? Thank you very much...
No need to do repartitioning as it is a pre OCT 2014 nightly, further it is applicable for Defy as well as Defy+.

Since you are on CM7 I hope you need to revert back to stock rom & then follow instructions mentioned in my post #6788.

Hope I am not going wrong, if so someone pls correct & help our friend here.

Actually lollipop is best android from all considering ram usage and speed. Every device is jumping antutu by few thousant after upgrade. But people are using dirty upgrade and not satisfied. I would like to see just a bootup on defy if quarx can make it fast even without any drivers.

cm12 ram usage on samsung s3 neo.

Edit: unfortunely, only sane decision is kitkat. Milion thanks to Quarx.

Vote for Kitkat 4.4

I'm likely to be replacing my Defy+ due to the increasing size of Google's apps. (I'm sick of having to uninstall apps I occasionally use so I can upgrade the ones I use more.) but until then, a stable version of Kitkat would be the best option by far.

in my opinion i would like to see lollipop on the Defy, looks like it might workquicker,
since my update from cm7 to kitkat i feel its smoother in movement but much more slow for each step, for opening Apps, and so on,
that really makes me sick to wait 7 or 8 seconds to open Opera, or whathever,
if things would work quicker with lollipop i would vote lollipop, i want speed :(

i use the defy as a main phone, i don't have more phones, and i am not going to change it becuase i don't find any phone of this size, thats something that makes me angry, because all brands are making big phones, and i want something compact like the defy, so i feel i am out of options,
my single alternative was to take a Droid Mini, wich is as far as i know, the most compact phone with very nice specifications, but still a bit big, dont like the design because its not simetrical in profile, and the LCD screen is "bad" for me if its not IPS,
and i dont like the camera too, as its no flat and protected,
so over all, impossible to find any 11 cm phone of 1-2 Gb of ram and IPS screen.

I would like to have android 5.1 for the defy(+). It's my main phone, and i think, it would be good to make at least lollipop for the defy, because it was developed specificly for phones with low ram. Thats a big chance!
