I am on 02-28-2015 nightly. Works fine, but i have lost twrp. Is there any way to fix this without flashing sbf?
Yes you can look on atached files BUT never in the future use the cmupdater to update the rom, just dnld the rom zip and MD5 waping ONLY dalvik and casche and reboot, you never have such a problem(happen to me in the past),i wrote this many times.

Greetings

Last post for 27/03/15

@okij, This is my last post refered on 27/03/15 and i ought to give my experience on to him first as suggested by and all the others.
Iam running on this with 22/02/15 gapps zip from 8/4
untill now(18 days),on first 7 days i had alot of reboots and in general this build is a bit slower than 12/1 but more stable. After swap used i had NONE reboot untill now using the phone in all fuctions gps, wifi, bt A2DP included in non flight mode+playing angrybirbs+using the phone as oscilloscope instrument as i use it to test my Arduino projects, all these with none problem, swap size used during this period are about 32mb from total 263mb.So my final opinion is: that's enough stable build but the whole system is more laggard after starting to use swap wich is competely logical on our device (but with no reboots and no wakelocks(max 4% awake)) which means better battery response, the memory leakage remains but covered by swap.INMHO THE memory leakage and lag may be is comming from gapps updated by me + Google services get update to 7.0.9.95.Am i wromg???

Greetings

OK follow the way refered by you, but where you read this " - wipe data wipe cache"on OP #1 ? Anyway try and if all good done no proplem. If your device is soft bricked you have to start from sbf (you must know your stock rom and the bootloader version you have,to see the BL version turn off the phone and push together power on and vol+ buttons) BUT before and after sbf flashed via RSDlite make wipe data/factory reset from STOCK RECOVERY and go ahead, when rom installed you see the TWRP ver. 2.8.0.0. All steps refered looks good.

Good luck friend
so do not perform a data wipe wipe cache? .. if you have failed to install a full SBF froyo? ..
and bootloader version I have 09:10
twrp already installed version 2.7.1.0 how to update to version 2.8.0.0?

2. The downloaded file resize from http://quarx2k.ru/other/moto_omap3_bootstrap/manual/resize.zip
3. install bootstrap via android terminal ( Terminal emulator android )
4. I wrote the df command to check the memory installed in my Defy written /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
I wrote the command again
su
cat /sdcard/defy_bootstrap_ext3.img > /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
reboot
5. after reboot go to recovery install resize.zip
6. reboot again and go to recovery

no , I have Defy MB525 red lense , I was confused for a flash in which to install the bootstrap and repartition to Defy mb5252 red lense
First of all, thanx for keeping the Defy alive!

If the WiFi and MMS bugs are unfixable, I'd leave 4.4 as is and play with 5.x.

If you can fix the remaining 4.4 bugs on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48305766&postcount=1039 (especially 34 [WiFi] and 48 [MMS]) please do them first. That should allow everyone to use the Defy as a real smartphone, not just as a vintage toy.
:good::good::good:
My main phone is Motorola Defy+
I do not install Recommended APPS, to earn some ram.
I hate Google Services on my phone!
I win 100MB of that do not use Google Services
Through my computer and application "APK Downloader" I download my favorite apk without Google Play.
I want to ask if you want to update the rom from cm 11 20140724 nightly build to the latest version .
rom install the new version should install bootstrap ? please step by step installing bootstrap and repartition

thanks sorry bad english

we have the same bl(09.10),i think you dind understand what i said and what i send.No mind,so you have to flash first the defy_twrp_recovery_2.6.3.0(included on files send to see) i dont now if possible by 2.7.1.0 but i suppose so,also follow excactly whatn is written on #1 and then proceed on next steps that you know now?If you have problem start from sbf following the way.txt(also send) using the sbf which refered on this txt.You must be calm first and your mind clear as you seems confused yet.Sorry for suggestions

EDIT:The 2.8.0.0 you wiil find when the new rom have been installed

BTW:Sorry friend i forgot to say that if you have your original sbf flash yours if you are going to start from sbf

Greetings

@Quarx,someday it would be useful to inform us about your decisions
about Defy(stay on 4.4.4,about 3x kernel, continuing in parallel working on 5.1)?As everyone knows that you are very busy working also for other devices too, we are always staying in agony about Defy decision as you from this device the developing started AFAIK.On every decision me and many other users come under your duty for test and help as we can everyone whith its own way and his possibility.

Thanking one more time for all your efforts about Defy, please try to inform if you have free time.

Sorry for any typos.

I agree with you granazis. I bought a Defy to add it to my smartphone collection and it would be neat to brag about having Lollipop on a 4-5 year old device. :D Quarx I'm grateful for your KitKat port which runs nicely on my phone. I'd love to see Lollipop running in my device eventually.

Can not flash anymore. I did like in the descriptionbefore, see picture, worked fine. Now when flashing TWRP from CWM nothing happens and the logo shows and phone freezes. Anyone know what is wrong? I really want to install CM11

Safewipe.zip in Bravo?

For the Bravo is necessary install the safewipe.zip? how to change from cwm recovery (installed from 2nd init, miui 2.3.7 installed) to TWRP recovery directly without install cm9 or cm10? is to change from miui 2.3 to cm11 directly.
Sorry my bad english, thanks.

This is the right one. Why does this method not work anymore for me?
The printout you show is one of my post & seems to be in response to your query. Let me know what were you trying to do, because these steps work perfect but only for the pre OCTOBER 2014 builds i.e the old nightlies with old partitioning system & cannot be used for flashing the new life nightlies.

Let know in a little details.

Yeah, it's definitely NOT a hardware problem. Happened just after installing new-life. And I could see in the script that it wiped 'old batt data'. So, something happens with battery management after installing these builds, since old pre-newlife builds didn't wipe that, if I'm not wrong.
Since I've installed 24apr via cm updater upon the other new life build, battery problem has been SOLVED.
