That was my first guess, but wanted to check. I missed the "list of known bugs" link on the first read. I assumed the summary was it.The first post of the thread, the one everyone is supposed to read. OP= Opening/Original Post. Quarx = Opening/Original Poster
The sites in question are already on html5I don't think these are "build-in"-players of the browser but rather from the website. All streamingservices used to play their videos via flashbased players. Those don't work with mobile devices anymore. All these sites are changing their service to html5-based players that work again on mobile devices. So opening videos with "build-in"-players is a feature, not a bug.
Opening videos with external players like mx player was a workaround for the flashproblem, that is no longer needed.
At least that's what I think. Might be totally wrong though![]()
ok now my defy works great with new build, gapps and my apps....
why the root isn't SuperSu? every time titanium says me to change to SuperSu...
Why don't you try with opera mini? The sites in question are already on html5

Or the normal opera version, i dont know if it installs on 4.x android on the defy, but on my tablet it plays a lot of videos. And for the case you want to reduce data amount, you can turn on the rally modeWhy don't you try with opera mini?

I worded that slightly wrong. I meant to say " Are web browsers supposed to use their own built in video players by default?" It's possible that there is an erroneous bit of code that either prevents or doesn't allow the use of external media players as an option. But I guess you would have to ask the kitkat/web browser devs these questions.I don't think these are "build-in"-players of the browser but rather from the website. Android ART is not supported before Android 4.4.1.
I guess it's supposed to work that way. Desktopversions of streamingsites don't allow external players either.I worded that slightly wrong. I didn't experience that, and I also use spotify, what I experience is the random reboots when I'm playing music for a long timeI have some problems with 10/12 build.
First, i have a problem with some internet music players (not browser) like PVSTAR or even Spotify:
When i turn off the screen, the cpu go in deep sleep, and the audio got very stuttered...so i can't hear the music when i turn off the screen (except with Apollo). I did a search and it seems that the problem is related to the custom kernel. Anyone knows something about that?
Also, i have experienced some forced reboots by using some browsers in low memory condition (and/or cpu overload).
I face this every day. Like yesterday I started a play store download that was 12MB and then while it was downloading I started playing candy crush saga... two minutes into the game and it rebooted... same happens if the phone has not been restarted and am doing heavy browsing. Some large webpages cause the reboot. It's like common on 4.4.* so far.I got this also today
My earlier post was in reference to this. Can't delete the past via the xda app.I didn't experience that, and I also use spotify, what I experience is the random reboots when I'm playing music for a long time
Download "Aerocontrol" by Blechd0se and set "Suspend_enabled 0", Interactive is capping the CPU to 300mhz when the screen is off with suspend enabled. You'll have to do this after every reboot as the "set on boot"-feature is bugged under kitkat atm.I have some problems with 10/12 build.
