i have a problem with power amp. Sometimes when i hear a music, you can hear it for a while and then the music is playing but you can't hear anything.
Than i try to press play and pause but it doesn't work. So i kill the power amp service and restart it and than it works.
I am the only one with the problem?

I have the same problem.

I've had this issue for a really long time on almost all aosp roms (4.0+). I'm not quite sure, but I suspect that Voodoo sound might be causing it for some reason.

I will stop building Omni. Keeping Omni up-to-date takes me too much time. Omni moves to slow from my perspective (many interesting patches get ignored/abandoned). Many features in my current Omni build are based on manually added patches, which I expected to get merged at some point in time. But after they get ignored and then abandoned, maintaining them is time-consuming for me.

I moved over to nameless for all my devices, of which I have become a core team member:

Hi Kasper, I can follow you to nameless hoping that the issues we had are gone. Does it have your kernel?;)

Actually we do have here already a fantastic working KitKat ROM in practically stable version left.

In fact, we have even two versions: CMA (with 417MB memory, with non-working front camera) and the very latest one without CMA, 395MB memory and working front camera.

I didn't know that kasper left the project. Are you sure? Where is he focused now?

kasper_h has re-built his CM9 Mackay ROM during last few weeks. It is possibly the fastest ROM for the i9000.

Return to ICS is very interesting :)
My phone is flying on it, it is considerably faster than it was with any JB and KK rom.

I flashed the ROM after a full wipe, but i don't have any sounds or notifications sound. I only have "install sound pack". Why?

Hi,

My wife is using an old rom on her i9000. Android 2.3 with old bootloader.

I have a couple of questions:
- Can I flash this ROM over her old ROM using the old bootloader and a 2 years old ClockworkMod ?
- I searched but did not find a link to Gapps. Where can I download them?
- I searched but did not find a link to supersu. Where can I download it?

Gingerbread bootloader is up to date, so no problem.

No, it won't go to upgrade directly. You should flash maybe best CM10.2 as it will resize the system and data partitions and give you a KK compatible recovery. As step before CM10.2 some ICS rom wouldn't be bad to try, or backup your IMEI first.

For orher questions: core gapps mini (19MB ) and SuperSU from Chainfire's thread. Use search function or google.

I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11-based builds for several devices. MackayROM was first based on CyanogenMod sources, but I decided to move over to Omni as base for my ROM.

About Omni: Omni is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!

If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.

The ROM is based on Omni sources with the following changes:
    -Mackay Kernel:
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (differing by the day)
-Some additional patches I did myself to the source code

Feature request are OK, but remember:
    1. I try to stay close to stock
    2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
    3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself

Although it is possible to enable ART, this is not advisable:
-Takes long to convert from Dalvik to ART on first boot
    -Needs more RAM
    -Can cause soft reboots
But off course, YMMV -> light users may have better luck

    Changelog of 27-Feb-2014
-Omni codebase of 26-Feb (e.g. new bootanimation :))
    -QS Ribbon is gone

-Custom kernels can be used only if specific for OmniROM => currently none
