Thanks for the info. I did actually have one problem with this kernel but may be Xposed or DashClock causing it - I had a "wake" issue while playing music and leaving WiFi range. I.e. walked out of my house, tried to skip a track via volkeys (CM11 implementation) and the phone was unresponsive. Screen also wouldn't power on. However music kept playing. After about 30 seconds it all "caught up" - a few tracks were skipped and my screen turned on and off a few times :)

Even with that, kernel is still my first choice (only choice really). Tried to reproduce this error but couldn't, so may have been a one-off instance. Or it could be an issue with WiFi driver, not sure.

I am experienced in kernel development so I 'all try to trap it in logcat/dmesg to find the cause.

Regarding lollipop, I've been most interested in pabx's lollipop as it's apparently flawless. But if it has poor sound volume then its a deal breaker for me - but open source is :) I may roll my own kernel for a solution to that.

Hmmm... Must be Xposed. I have had no issues at all with this kernel and Xposed modules (especially the ones that aren't geared directly for Xperia devices) can be problematic at times. Then again, this kernel hasn't been updated for months now, so to be fair, it could be the kernel.

Nice to hear that you're into kernel development! I too have heard great things about Pabx's Lollipop ROM, so I may have to check it out some time. Sound volume can be boosted with the Aroma Stereo Mod for the XZ (you can catch it usually at the top of all threads in the themes and apps forum). Now, as a lazy perfection-seeking user, I would kill (and I mean kill) for a kernel that's derived from KMA kernel source code. That combined with Pabx's LP ROM and we may have a reason for all KK users to upgrade and never look back. So, what do you say, buddy? :D

You'd think it's Xposed but I think it's DashClock. Managed to get it to reproduce (seems to happen under high memory use) and disabling lock screen allows instant wake again. Toggled lock screen on and off a few times to confirm.

Either that or an Xposed module (like Gravity Box) is messing with the lock screen despite me asking it not to. With that said, I can live without Xposed so I'll give it a go without it for a few days.

I saw Aroma Stereo Mod, but it doesn't mention anything about headphone amplification. Faux's sound patches are open though so I'm sure it could be worked-in to an LP kernel.

Tempting, I may have to wait for Xposed for 5.1 before I bother personally. Stock AOSP is unusable for me, if only for volskip mod as I use phone for main music player. But if both KMA and pabx kernels are open and have decent commit logs I'm sure I could whip something up. If I do though I'll pass on 90% of the extra governors - an extra two or three at most. Too confusing otherwise; our SoC's will one day revolt from this over governance :D

Anyway, the base would obviously be pabx's kernel - I'd just pick and choose specifics from other kernels and port them over. Time is not something I have a lot of lately, though it's def. of interest to me.

    Intro
I decided to split the kernel from the rom, as CM has now merged the kitkat blobs. So from now on I will only keep updating and building my custom kernel (which is a continuation from original KMA rom).

    Features
    - In sync with CAF
    - Latest blobs
    - Patched to latest 3.4.x version (source: kernel.org)
    - Build with sabermod 4.9 (Strict O3)
    - Lots of governors and schedulers to choose from
    - Powersuspend
    - Intelliplug hotplugging
    - Thermal control
    - Faux Sound Control
    - LUN support cdrom (mount phone image to pc)
    - Kernel tweaks
    - Double tap to wake
    - Undervolt support
    - 192mhz as lowest freq
    - Fastcharge
    - Kexec-hardboot

    What's new
    [22-10-2014]
    - For now only AOSP rom support
    - Remove optimize for size, so full O3 now
    - Include fixed libril for AOSP
    - Cleanup ramdisk

    [07-10-2014]
    - Fix RIL on stock?
    - Add fastcharge
    - Add kexec hardboot patch
    - Move to Anykernel2 (modified by me) permanently

    [02-10-2014]
    - Fix RIL data dropping
    - Fix permissions for new GPS blobs

    [29-09-2014]
    - Merge 3.4.104
    - Merge 10.5.1.A.0.283 kernel and blobs (now in one package, just flash over stock cm)

    [21-09-2014]
    - Merge CAF 1.43
    - SoundControl upstream patches
    - Updated sabermod toolchain

    Hi guys,

Ive been pretty busy lately with school.
I noticed the merge of 4.4 on official CM. This makes my rom kind of obsolete now. And because of limited time I decided to drop the rom and continue with the kernel only. So the next release will be a kernel only release ( of course a continuation of the current one )
    15
So you guys beat me to it. But yeah the new build is up, with full .230 kernel + source. Enjoy! If you encounter any bugs please report (afaik the google drain issue is still there)
If you appreciate my work please hit the thank button or make a small donation.

Im working on the .230 source. Need to fix some 200 merge conflicts first. Then need to test the blob part. I hope it will be done this week.

@thomas1991_12 btw.. i figured out why Google Play Services goes crazy and drains battery like hell:

It looks like the drain is triggered by the new libinversense_hal based sensors framework.

Switching back to DASH fixes the drain - no idea why, but my best guess would be that the libinversense_hal based sensors framework confuses the 'activity recognition' of google-play-services.
