hello..just got the phone 2 days back..i was on 4.2.2 indian firmware....checked download mode and it said knox 0*0...now i flashed the 4.4.2 firmware downloaded from sammobile via odin and when i recheck knox is gone....!!!!
just said binary and system which changed from official to custom once i rooted it with CF-root method(nothing else was working...saferoot/towelroot etc)..and as i seem to have read that flashing stock rom reverts these back to official...is it true?
and does this mean that my knox firmware phone has been converted to a non-knox one after kit kat upgrade?
please anyone let me know..thanks

And there is no need and no point to downgrade anything.
It doesn't matter what version of Android anything is in relation to KNOX.
Thanks for clarifying. So every firmware after MH4 is "Knox infected" although it came with Android 4.2.2.

You can find a firmware overview at hand-faq.de where the knox firmware is red marked (unfortunately I am still not allowed to post external links).

But assume you are flashing Kitkat would it be possible to go back to 4.2.2? I read this won't be possible unless you are using a firmware which also has a Knox boot loader like MJ7 to NB3. Am I right?

hi, have an i9192 with UC knox bloody bootloader and tripped 0x1 trying CM11, and now SE is enforcing;
then rooted the phone and got rid of most knox stuff.

is 0x1 locking the bootloader so that flashing (downgrading) is not possible (yet)?

0x1 is only about warranty and knox stuff which can't be used anymore as written in the OP, downgrading from kitkat stock is possible if you skip flashing the bootloader again.

I (unfortunately) have an UB bootloader (4.2 stock ROM) with Knox enabled.
4.4 stock roms have already been released in some countries (ie. Germany).
Is it possible to install the german 4.4 stock ROM on my portuguese no brand i9195, without triggering the eFuse? In other words, does the change of country code (CSC) involve a rooting process?
Thanks

I've installed UAMH2, does not contain knox, and now both kernel lock and warranty void are 0xfffffffc:

also phone cannot boot, stuck with:

reinstalling UCNG2 they "revert" to kernel 0x0 and warranty 0x1 ....

Knox trip

Hello, i am new here and i have some questions about knox. My s4's mini battery is draining very bad and i read that a custom rom like cm will give me battery results. I want to ask if it worth to trip knox for installing a custom rom and if i will get better battery.
Thanks and sorry is i am off topic.

IMHO it makes more sense to discover the tools which help you determine the apps which cause the drain and how to tame them. From my experience with CM11 on my last phone the problems don't magically dissolve with a new ROM. Actually with my i9195 running on stock ROM I now have more overall stability than before with CM11. The crucial point is to know the tools for analysis and taming. I'm using greenify with the corresponding xposed module and occasionally I'm using Advanced Task Killer to stop everything I don't absolutely need, in cases where I have the impression that something sucks. And I use titanium backup to freeze apps which I absolutely don't need.

Try f4k's lollipop. I have it on i9195 for some weeks now and, combined with UCNK5 modem i have a nice battery life now. Check that thread as it contains tweaking infos also.

Hello, thanks for your advice. I am thinking of buying an s4 mini on o2 contract and if the bootloader is locked will i be able to unlock it? Or if you cant unlock the knox bootloader can i still flash custom roms?
Samsung does not have locked bootloader.
Knox only show if u void warranty or not.
In my case i buy i9195 and flash custom rom before even know about knox and i woid my warranty.
my device have problems with autoreboot if i use 3g or 4g network and i restore original firmware and send it to service and they tell me that i need to pay if i wanna repair...
Soo be sure your device its 100% ok before u flash custom roms.

Hi!
I am a new s4 mini user, i just bought an used, unlocked phone from the internet. Without IMEI label on back... in the SW there are imei number.
This is what i know my phone:
Knox Warranty: 0x1
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Bootloader AP SWAEV: 2
Write Protection: Enable
Android: 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.0-2659908 [email protected]#1 Sat Aug 30 14:01 KST 2014
Build: KOT49H.I9195XXUCNH5
How can i install an other ROM?
I do not like KitKat with SD card restrictions.
Can i install an old 4.2 original firmware? Can i back to 4.2, or an modded 4.2 ROM?
Or what ROM do you suggest, and how can i install it?

Hello, I am not sure if you can go back to 4.2, there are other threads I think about that. If you just don't like kitkat because of sd restriction you could root the kitkat and then install an app from google play and that patches the rom so you can use the ext sd card.
