@savoca,

I'm currently writing an app to install and control the kppd, just like you made for the kernel mod style, except just for this kppd, without the need to flash a zip or edit a text file. Do you have any objection? (You can pm me if you prefer.)

Here's what it looks like so far:

I tried it on my LG v20. Didn't work. Even the flash zip didn't work either with error 7
What soc is in the v20? Is it on the kppd compatibility list? You can check that in my thread for easy reference. If flashing kppd from savoca doesn't work, I'm afraid that my app will not work either, as my app uses the same commands and binary.
Tried it on my H918 V20 as well running WETA on stock kernel and it didn't work. Installed app through play store and everything went successfully but after changing values and enabling and rebooting, nothing changed.
Just a side note, for this app, of kppd works on your device, you don't have to reboot to take affect. If you change rgb values and press enable, does that change anything?
Hear are the settings I used to get rid of ghost image on LG v10
Great! Thanks for sharing! In sure other v10er's will be glad to know that!

Thanks guys! I recommend following the link to my thread on kppd control for kppd control app discussion, so as not to clutter the kppd thread.

@savoca I've tried KPPD (via @AlaskaLinuxUser 's nice KPPD Control GUI) on a LG G2 D802 running latest official LineageOS. The KCAL app force closes immediately upon opening (probably because the LineageOS kernel does not have KCAL support built-in), that's why I needed to use KPPD instead of KCAL.

However: As it turns out, the LG G2 D802 only reacts on the Invert, Red, Green and Blue controls :(. The rest of the controls such as Saturation and Contrast do not do anything.

According to @AlaskaLinuxUser that's because the device apparently is MDP3 only, not MDP5: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/themes-apps/app-kppd-control-t3639878/post73451614#post73451614

The LG G2 D802 uses the msm8974, see: https://cve.lineageos.org/android_kernel_lge_msm8974

Should the msm8974 be able to do Saturation and Contrast etc. as well? Or is it inherently limited to Red, Green, Blue and Invert?

Wq0913562,

Savoca's last post on all of XDA was in October of 2016. I don't think he is on XDA anymore.

(If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to correct me.)
