In XL android development section there's a root method for fw 14.. Using rootkit,http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/root-firmware-15-3-1-12-t2591290did not work for the following model:
C2105
android 4.2.2
15.3.A.1.14
how can root this?
strange.. on what fw u were..? i'm on fw 15.3.a.1.14, how about this root method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/root-firmware-15-3-1-12-t2591290 it works for me all the timeI tried all root methods mentioned in this tread they did not work for me either.
Funny enough I have found success! But it will only work for those who don't mind installing a custom kernel like Thunderzap.
Although if you already have a custom kernel installed all you have to do is acsses recovery and select the power off it will ask you to root the device just scroll to Root and it will reboot with SU!
I am currently on 15.3.A.1.14 generic world firmware provided by pc companion.strange.. on what fw u were..? i'm on fw 15.3.a.1.14, how about this root method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/root-firmware-15-3-1-12-t2591290 it works for me all the time
This rootkit does work for 15.3.A.1.14, I myself have tried it more than 3 times and it worked flawlessly everytime..I am currently on 15.3.A.1.14 generic world firmware provided by pc companion.
I have tried all the root methods in all the threads for our xperia L. Until I tried rooting the device via recovery my device was successfully rooted!.
Once I was in recovery I just selected the option to reboot into system and then it asked to root the device.
I think this explains a lot because the recovery needs root access in order to execute most of the functions, despite it is out side of the system.
I think there is a way to flash a custom recovery without unlocking the boot loader so you could gain root accesses without having a custom kernel.
Well I have tried it more than three times, I followed the instructions to the finest detail. I will say that I have used that particular root method on previous firmware and worked fine just not the latest firmware. This rootkit does work for 15.3.A.1.14, I myself have tried it more than 3 times and it worked flawlessly everytime..
