i never noticed an improvement anyway. the power of suggestion goes a long way and this phone handles things better than the captivate. more ram and a year to learn all the mistakes goes a long way. lagfix improves throughput but this is embedded os. there is not a lot of io to begin with.

ok sgs crossovers flame away. i know you disagree with me. but im stating oppinion and observation

It will need a lag fix. The file system is RFS, that's just bad. I'm playing around with ext3 and ext4 now. I can do it fairly easily from the commandline, I've just never packaged anything as an apk.

Maybe if I get some time, I'll do that and release. I'll push out benchmarks when I have them.

Strange... What are you all installing? I have put this sucker thru the ringer and it still smells like day one roses. Smoothest experience yet..

For fun I ran the OCLF from the market, worked great and almost doubled my quadrant... only bad thing was home and menu keys did not work. With no way to get back to stock (odin did not work for me) I had to swap it out for a new one this afternoon.

Samsung's Gingerbread i9000 ROMs use RFS and are respectably snappy. Whatever the lag problem was, Samsung seems to have fixed it.

Biggest piece of crap around. Does literally nothing but break Quadrant benchmarking into an artificially inflated score.

I am having audio/video sync issues with mine while watching videos, either recorded from my Infuse, or when streaming. I tried a couple more Infuses at AT&T, and they all have the same problem. Other than that, I notice no other lag issues with the phone, as it's very quick to respond and zippy.

i always felt the benifit of lagfixes was questionable.

Chika Da China Da Chinese Chicken?

I don't know everything that was done to help the speed but on my captivate changing to a kernel like Speedmod definitely made the phone quicker and less hitchy.

EXT4 instead of RFS.....dunno, but whenever I applied it. Big difference.

what mikey is trying to say is that ext2 over loopback just inflates quadrant scores. replacing rfs with ext4 partitions (which almost every other android device uses) is the way to go.

The infuse definitely needs a lag fix. I notice heavy lag when I try and add an application shortcut to the launcher screens. Not sure why, considering I've only downloaded about 10 apps. I did root a few days ago, but rooting has had no effect on the lag time, it lagged before, and it lags now. I'm disappointed.

I think YMMV in the case of the lag issue. I haven't noticed it once after the week I've had it.
