laminated display technology refers the amount of layers there are in the display
to greatly simplify things
there are 3 layers to a touch screen display
top layer = protective glass/plastic - usually the gorilla glass or whatever equivalent material
middle layer = touch sensitive layer - has all the tech for the capacitive touch sensing etc
lower layer = display itself, whether it be LED or LCD
All those layers make for something rather thick, and the display being at the bottom means that your viewing angles arent great because the display is buried under a few layers.
newer screen tech integrates the touch sensitive layer into either the protective glass layer, or the actual display itself. along with gorilla glass 2 which is ~half the thickness of original gorilla glass, you get a much thinner display, with the display layer being much closer to the top - resulting in much better viewing angles and the appearance that the displayed content is 'printed' on the surface.
there is other stuff here to do with air gaps between layers, and diffraction being reduced by filling air gaps with translucent resin etc, but this is my simple understanding and explanation of laminated screen tech.
now ... does the razr HD have this?
