Who's ever 100% satisfied with a phone? I'm sure your U11+ isn't perfect for you.

Yes, it is perfect, but as you said, for me.

It has all the things I need and it covers all my points. Probability for someone else, the screen and other things are not that important and the Pixel is the perfect fit for them.

I never stay with a phone that is not perfect to my eyes and covers all my needs.

Fyi. I'm very fussy when in comes to screens. I sent back 4 oneplus 5t phones cause everyone had uneven tints...had 4 htc u11 and 3 HTC 10 all with light bleed. Pink and yellow tints. I had 3 Samsung s6 for pink tints. I sent back the mate 10 pro for an uneven tints. All amoled screens have bad batches. There just not overhyped like it has been with the pixel. Mine is great. Good temperature with no uneven tints...and the blue tint is never ever noticed

Right so how about seeing that the Pixel 2 XL can be perfect for other people?

Edit:
Correction. You actually DID just say it can be perfect for people. My bad. LOL

I'm thinking about going for the regular Pixel 2 instead. Have not heard of any screen issues with that one.
True. It's the same phone but old 16:9 ratio screen with wasted top and bottom bezels and smaller battery. If those you don't mind those two things, go for it. I would've actually went for that if the new design of the 2 XL was available in a smaller factor.

Yes, but I want to go for that over a messed up screen. I'm very picky when it comes to screens.
I'm using the Pixel 2 after returning two XL2's.

The good: screen colors more accurate and uniform, almost no color shifting, low brightness is better, it's a one handed phone but just barely, seems faster in my opinion.

The bad: smaller screen - and I needed to enlarge my text, it's boxy on the corners and sides, and it's not a thin phone on the edges, battery life is noticeably less than the XL2, the bezels are giant - the same size as the first Pixel.

But it's about the overall experience. I prefer a more accurate screen to a large one, personally. So far I'm glad I switched to the regular 2. I only miss having a big screen. Next year I'll get the XL3 assuming they sort out the OLED issues.

I just received my 128GB Just Black Pixel 2 XL yesterday. Ordered directly from Google but I did *not* get the preferred care (just because it was already so dang expensive!). I am wondering if there is anything in particular I should check with the screen while I am still within my 15 day return window?

I may be opening a can of worms here but I would rather find out if there is something wrong and address it now rather than find it on day 16.

I traded my OnePlus 5T for a 2XL, paid about $120 on top, bought the 5T for $730, so I basically got the 2 XL for $850. Considering the 2XL was ~$1400 after tax straight from Google at the time, I feel like I got a steal!

Almost no blue tint when looking off-axis, but I do notice some colour shifting on white backgrounds. Sometimes it gets to a warmer tone (yellow), other times cooler (blue).

It's not too bad though, as it's hardly noticeable and I couldn't be happier with this, especially compared to the 5T.

Not to get too OT but the vibration motor on the 5T was horrible. Feeling the vibration on the 2XL is a HUGE step up, just an additional thing I noticed aside from the screen.

This is good to hear actually. I couldn't decide between the Pixel 2 XL and the 5T. I originally ordered the 5T a week ago and then cancelled it within an hour and ordered the Pixel instead. Figured I'd give the Pixel a 14 day trial run and if I had screen issues I would just send it back and get the 5T instead.

I'm really enjoying the Pixel a lot. It does have a blue shift but I can't say as though I really care. It doesn't bother me any more than any other phone I've had. So as long as there's no other problems with the screen she's here to stay. :good:

Download this app called something like "display checker" or "display tester". It has lots of tests you can run to ensure the display isn't defective. That's what I did when I traded for mine!

Manufacture date: November 06, 2017
Shipped from factory: November 08, 2017
Estimated phone age: 3 Month(s), 1 week(s), 3 day(s)
I've had 3 Pixel 2 XL's. The best of the 3 was manufactured in November. The other ones were from January.
