I'm still having issues with this latest firmwire. I do get LTE but not network connection. I still have circle with a line through it indicating that I don't have service. the service will come on for a second and then cut out. Service is called "123456".
Greetings all. I just flashed Galaxy S7 Nougat 7.0 using sammobile firmware below...for the sole purpose of using the the system Hotspot. Could someone suggest how to make it work after flashing is done? I didn't see instructions in this thread.

Also, there was no option inside Odin3_v3.12.7 to add HOME_CSC_VZW_G930VVZW4BQH4_CL12200908_QB14864897_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 ... Was it bundled with one of the other files? And is it required to manually add/install it?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello friend the HOME.tar version is if you want to keep all your apps that you installed before. Also this is flashed in the CSC section in Odin if you uses the CSC.tar you will lost all your data (aka previous app installed) and your rom will be stock with any data as a new one.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::highfive:

I decided to try the latest U-firmware on my G930V...
Howdy, hope you're doing well bruh.

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V, Nougat 7.0 (note: I live in europe, and it's an unlocked phone). I want to get rid of Verizon logo while booting and all the unnecessary apps connected with Verizon. Plus, as you know Verizon locks some functions like the device maintenance, turning off the backlight of the capacitive buttons, etc, etc.
So, I'd like to have a clean/untouched samsung firmware without any useless apps.

Is androidfilehost.com trustworthy? what about updato.com? (the latter had slow dl speed, and I stumbled upon the first alternative)
PS. by the way, mine reads G930VVRS4BQI1, so one thing that confused me was while loking up for files to download; should I get the G930VVRS4BQI1 which may be the only compatible file for my phone, or do I already have G930VVRS4BQI1, so downloading it would be useless?

Since I wouldn't like to tinker often with the phone system, what do you suggest, flashing or rooting?

Is there any guide for my case for flashing?
I noticed these two on the front page:

which should I pick?
and since the posts were last edited in may and september, where can I find the latest firmware?

and after doing all this, will everything work well, will I get OTA updates?

I would really appreciate helping me out. Take your time, whenever you're free.
Thanks in advance

Can anyone confirm the latest stable version/PDA that we could use?

Looks like the last confirmed version in this sthread was PDA: G930UUEU4GQH3 but that was from September.

Has anyone else tried something later that worked without issue?

I can confirm that the latest G930U firmware G930UUES4BRC1 (dated March 30, 2018) works perfectly.

I flashed my Verizon G930V with it a few days ago, and I have yet to encounter a single problem. In fact, it feels like an entirely different phone. It's noticeably snappier, and the occasional lagging I used to get with the Verizon firmware is completely gone.

I know that Oreo is coming out soon, but I am glad I flashed the phone. I was getting too frustrated with the stock firmware.

Edit: Since this is my first post, I can't include a direct link to Updato. Just to clarify, I used the "USA (Verizon) (VZW)" version of G930UUES4BRC1.

Today i took the G930V and flashed the U firmware, updated it to the latest. Connected it to dfs tool and unlocked all supported lte bands of the standard U variant using the instructions in this post. So far no problems. Everything is fast and smooth.

Successfully made U firmware working with Red Pocket Verizon

Confirmed G930U firmware does not work with Red Pocket Verizon MVNO. Same problem as other Verizon MVNOs = no cell signal.
I had the same issue (no cell signal) with G935U with Red Pocket Verizon MVNO. After many days testing, the problem is finally resolved.
Root cause is that U firmware erroneously configures the phone with MVNO sim card by AutoPreconfig.apk. Solution is to disable the package (refer to https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/whats-package-service-provider-update-t3425169 ).

How this works:
1. Insert a Verizon sim card (no matter active or inactive) to make the phone configure to Verizon system. You may use also a none activated Red Pocket Verizon (CDMA) sim card and the phone will connect to Verizon even without service.
2. Disable the package: com.sec.android.AutoPreconfig. My phone is not rooted, so used Disable Package Pro+ (Samsung) .
3. Insert your Red Pocket Verizon MVNO sim card and all works well.

If AutoPreconfig is not disabled when MVNO sim card is inserted, you will see a pop up message "Service Provider Update" and phone will reboot followed by configuring erroneously for sim card.

I installed this on my verizon s7 coming from pl3
flashed 4 files (CSC not home CSC) worked for me
I also Enabled LTE bands from a post on here and that work wonders on mine
I am using it on att and i unlock all LTE bands ATT uses and i must say i am now getting a LTE+ instead of just LTE without the plus. I am not sure if that matters but didnt have it when i first installed firmware.
The LTE Bands i unlocked was 12 and 13
12 for att
13 for verizon(Just incase i pop a verizon sim on it.
So far this U firmware is great but still comes with a bunch of google bloat other than that it is running pretty smooth.
To root i am guessing we use the same method as before
Thank you

Data issues?

Does anyone have issues with mobile data (LTE) staying on while in a phone call? I just installed the latest U firm RH2 and am using it on verizon, but sometimes the mobile data turns off as soon as I place a call. Other than that, working great.

U firmware with Red pocket Verizon: alternative to PackageDiabler Pro

If AutoPreconfig is not disabled when MVNO sim card is inserted, you will see a pop up message "Service Provider Update" and phone will reboot followed by configuring erroneously for sim card.
I run into this problem again, and Package Disabler Pro is not working anymore due to activation issue. This time I used adb shell to fix the problem. Follow this page https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/ . To disable AutoPreconfig use the command below in adb shell:
pm uninstall -k --user -0 com.sec.android.AutoPreconfig
AutoPreconfig is uninstalled for the current user, but not removed from the system. So it can be re-installed in future.

Advice needed

Disclaimer: I'm no where near a developer. But I'm very willing to experiment. I'm just trying to get my husband's new to him s8 (pie) to work on redpocket.

I successfully disabled autopreconfig. But it won't stay on LTE. It's on global settings. Also I noticed that redpocket said on its website that they only accept phones that have HD voice enabled. But when I tried doing that it seems like it will only activate through a Verizon account. Anyone have any suggestions how to get LTE to stay on? And how to get HD voice feature working if it's a critical feature to work on redpocket? Or is it better to just try redpocket gsm or another mnvo?

I have an s7 on redpocket that works fine. HD voice enabled.

I tried this too on my S8 with ADB shell. When I restart with my Red Pocket Sim I loose LTE and have 1x. I have to restart with a Verizon SIM and then reinstall the Red Pocket SIM to get LTE. LTE works until reboot, and I only reboot when I update Android. I also keep a Verizon SIM and tool in my wallet just in case. My main phone is an iPhone on AT&T - I wanted a Verizon phone for AT&T's dead spots.

Verizon isn't letting any non HD Voice phones activate on their network now - so any MVNO on Verizon's network has the same requirement. A few months ago I contacted Red Pocket to enable HD Voice. They said they did something on their end but nothing happened right away, but it is enabled now.

Some Samsung models have a hard time working with Verizon MVNOs, the S8 it one of them. Your S8 should work fine with any Red Pocket GSM SIMs.
