Just for info, after updating to latest Photos, I noticed heavy drain while idle, installed better battery stats, and saw massive Photos wakelocks, losing 10% over 7 hours while idle, downloaded previous version from end March and installed it (from apk mirror), problem sorted. drain back to normal while idle. Just in case anyone else has drain issues from last week or so.
