Absolutely agree with this.

I don't mind paying more compare to iPad, because this thing can do much more.

And at $700 - $800, it is quite a steal, indeed.

Of course, you can wait a little bit longer for other (might be) cheaper Honeycomb tablet from Dell, Asus, Acer, etc. There will be a lot of choices :)

I wish some people would stop complaining about the "high" price of the Xoom. Its a high end device with a justifiable high end price. How much did your smartphone cost retail?... unsubsidized, probably around $500. This is a high performing 10.1" tablet, 2-3 times larger than your touchscreen phone and with Android 3.0, and a hell of a lot better than the supposedly "comparable" $500 wifi ipad. And unlike the ipad, you can upgrade your memory w/out upgrading the whole damn device. $799 OR $699 is a steal. So save up. And if you can't afford it, then you are window shopping at the wrong store.

What is Best Buys return policy?

I have been dying to get this tablet and do not want to wait but at the same time if it is locked up and I will never be able to do anything with it I am not sure I will want to keep it :(

I know that places like Walmart give crazy 60 or 90 day return policies but I think a place like Best Buy could end up being 15 or 30 days. I could also end up just getting store credit (wouldnt be too bad because I could save that money for the next tablet I want)

$800 + tax + $50 case + $100 Bluetooth keyboard---looking at around $1000.
Pretty ridiculous. My new desktop only cost me $900 and it is blazing fast.

IMO:
If it's $600 I'm picking it up no question.
If it's $700 I'll still get it but skip the keyboard for now...
$800...I really don't see how I can pull the trigger. I guess wait a few weeks until reviews come out to see if it's really worth it.

I'm buying to view my college textbooks (pdfs). I've got 400 set aside from not buying books and the rest will be out of my own pocket.

As of now $800 looks more and more likely :(

According to Best Buys website:

"14 days for computers, monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, iPad, tablets and radar detectors"

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-To...es/pcmcat204400050023.c?id=pcmcat204400050023

However, if you're a "Silver" Bestbuy member, you get 45 days.

Looks like I will have to wait for a wifi version after all... if you look at the best buy ad below the image it says "To activate wifi functionality on this device, a minimum of 1 month data subscription is required." so basically I have to pay 20 a month for wifi... thats ridiculous.

I am sure one of the many people on xda would get around that but I am sure the wifi version will also be cheaper. I am surprised to not see a subsidized version though.

I really hope that the wifi version comes out soon :(

You dont have to pay it month to month. It's a one time activation and you can cancel anytime and still have WiFi. This is all assuming the BB ad is legit and such.

May be a bogus ad: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11180078&postcount=22

Nope thats not how it works. You just activate it when you purchase it and when you leave the store cancel the plan.
