Ok guys with Unlocked Bootloaders
Here is the latest iteration of a rootable boot.img for mm-beta https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297395
You know the drill:-
- Rename to boot.img
- Flash via Fastboot
- Enter recovery
- Flash a Systemless SuperSU eg: BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip
- Reboot.
FIXED
- Black Camera
- Root apps hanging while waiting for Supersu to grant permission
- RIC. Big thanks to @Gustavo RD78 for working this out :good:
Note
- The first boot may take some time, and give the impression that you are in a bootloop. Just wait and it will boot up normally eventually.
- Recovery is working, if you have Problems look here

Enjoy fully functional root on MM-Beta:cool:

Yes there is a recovery for unlocked bootloader for z3 running on mm. I flash the shoey recovery before till l i had to come back again to lollipop because i ve got a bootloop trying diferent things to get root and system rw. But now i try the new method by shoey but recovery its not working

Can someone create a flasheable zip of the beta MM for UB? I have tried to download to many times the backup from MEGA but when I try to extract the backup, it says " Unexpected end of file".

Edit: Root seems to be ok, but system mountable as r/w! ric?
For system mount rw try my RICDefeat flashable zip: https://github.com/dosomder/SonyRICDefeat
If you have root you can also run the script from /data/local/tmp

Or easier step is:
unzip update-binary to /data/local/tmp
copy RICDefeat.zip to /data/local/tmp
Code:
su
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 777 update-binary
./update-binary 3 1 /data/local/tmp/RICDefeat.zip

Yes.... hopefully we are getting some sort of recovery, although it is tough work

Maybe some sort of Flashify could work before we get real recovery... @[NUT]

It is a f*cking happiest day as smartphone user ... I have resisted over couple of years before getting my first smartphone (ok I had Samsung Galaxy2 Mini before, but it is not smart ....), and now happy that we have rooted M (and if sh*t not happens, it will be easy to root official Z3 Android M)... So I don't have to sell my lovely renewed Z3...

Z3 - MM TWRP Recovery for Locked BL - V2

Guys, here is the new MM TWRP Recovery with /system rw issue properly fixed.
For those who have the previuos version os this recovery installed, you will need to remove it from the system before proceed to a new installation.

How to uninstall this and the previous version (be careful in the steps)
    1 - Delete /system/etc/mm_twrp_recovery folder
    2 - Go to /system/bin/ folder
3 - Look for the chargemon.stock file - If it's present, delete this one: chargemon - and now, rename the chargemon.stock to chargemon
4 - Look for the taimport.stock file - If it's present, delete this one: taimport - and now, rename the taimport.stock to taimport
    5 - Reboot

    How to install:
1 - Download attached Z3_MM_TWRP_Recovery_V2_By_Serajr.zip for locked BL (Z3 Only)
    2 - Unzip it and run Install.bat

    You're done!

Already tested on new MM Beta .570, as you can see here!!

    Enjoy it!

OK guys, as promised I have built TWRP 3.0.2.0 from source for z3, z3c and z2.
    DEV INFO

    • - Built from latest sources on Omnirom tree
      - Used sepolicy from @[NUT]'s XZDualrecovery TWRP (Fixes freezing issue when starting TWRP. Don't know why - don't care. It works)
      - Added this line (Again from @[NUT]) to /sbin/permissive.sh
      Code:
/sbin/busybox blockdev --setrw $(/sbin/busybox find /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/ -iname "system")
      - Reverted this commit https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/14015/
      - Added this commit https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/15550/
      - Removed "discard" from fstab for faster formatting of /system and /cache
      - Added options to flash TA, Fota/Recovery and System Image for advanced users.
      - Included Baseband backup.
The folllowing zips can be flashed from existing recovery, and will update it.
Edit: Added these flags to /device/sony/shinano-common/BoardConfigOmni.mk

    • TARGET_RECOVERY_QCOM_RTC_FIX := true (fixes wrong time)
TW_EXCLUDE_SUPERSU := true (removes nag to let TWRP root with outdated SuperSu)
TW_SKIP_RO_PARTITION_CHECK := true (To Do With " Add flag to bypass partition RO check" commit as above. We LIKE to r/w /system :p
