If you want to root lg h918 you may just have to become an expert on rooting. It's dangerous risky business

Oh well, maybe I'm exaggerating, but to change rom you have to root this phone. No other choice.

Also you can only root it if your firmware is version 10K or below.

You can flash the latest firmware if you want -- don't.

10k and below (10j is what you are on now) is ARB 0. If you flash 10p or 10q, you can only use 10p or 10q roms, and if something happens where you have to flash the KDZ, you would have to flash 10p or 10q and you would not be able to root again.

I don't really care about have my phone rooted, my main thing is to be able to have a clean and fast android experience( I used to have nexus) but T-Mobile bloatware is disgusting...otherwise I was thinking to install lineage os, but I'm not sure, I will be able to update android like a non root smartphone? or should I flash all the time a new version?

Root it, install twrp, then use titanium backup to remove all unwanted apps. Look online for debloat lists for the v20 or v10. Make a backup in twrp incase something goes wrong.

On tmo, I can either uninstall tmo apps or disable them. Other carriers I don't know. Look at each app's info (settings/apps) to see what options you have. Also, if the app is acting like a system app, use tibu to convert it to a user app. Then you can greenify it or delete it.
