I would strongly recommend to make a backup before flashing. After uninstall I still wasn't able to get fully rid of the launcher. Lockscreen stayed. I did a restore of system, still was there. I had to make a full restore to get rid of it. I'm on stock Rom btw.

You need to delete the Facebook app to get rid of it.

Ok... So the release date is today and I don't see anything. Anyone know what time it will be coming out. I'm in the UK so I don't know if it will show on my market or not

Its not release in uk just US ATM... How can I get Facebook Home when it launches?
There are two ways you'll be able to get the Facebook Home experience:

Download the app: You'll be able to upgrade to Facebook Home on your own by downloading the apps Facebook, Facebook Home, and Facebook Messenger from Google's Play Store. Facebook Home for Android will be available for download on the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung GALAXY S III and Samsung GALAXY Note II starting on April 12th for people who live in the US.

Can't find it on Play Store so apparently it isn't out yet...
Yeah it is not available yet.

Facebook app update is available. After updating the app, if we go to settings (in facebook app), there is an option now "enable facebook home". But when u click thr, it takes u to playstore, and playstore says, item not found.

If you have one of the supported devices.

1. Download Facebook Update (Says Fixes Facebook Home Permissions)
2. When done, launch Facebook App
3. Settings -> Enable Facebook Home
4. Will take you to Play Store to download add-on

Currently it's not working for me on USA T-Mobile Note II, but technically it's already out.
