PDF Export

@acadoid, Thank you so much! I've been using the app this whole semester and it's done me wonders in organization. It's definitely worth its price. I was wondering for exporting PDFs, it can currently do pages and all the keywords in a page,or the keywords in alphabetical order. I was wondering if there's a way to export just the keywords, in the page order they come in - the keywords being under a 'page 1' or 'page 2' heading is not really helpful. Thanks! I look forward to customizing my drawing tools this winter break! :)

@rainpaw: The bookmarks should be ordered by page (first the bookmarks of page 1, then the bookmarks of page 2, etc.) but not grouped by page? That is currently not possible with LectureNotes, and I am also not sure whether I understand the reasoning behind it. What would be the difference between your suggestion and the situation where bookmarks are grouped by page and all bookmark groups are open? Note that most PDF viewer allow to open all bookmark groups at once with a single click/menu selection.

@acadoid The pictures I sent you were in Google Chrome's PDF viewer, but I downloaded and installed Adobe Acrobat DC and get the same result. The thing is, even the pages that don't have any keywords attached to them act as bookmarks themselves, and the pages with keywords in them act as groups. So even if I expand all the groups (which I can't find an option for, but can do manually, say), I still have all Page1, Page 2, Page 3 ... etc. as bookmarks in between each group/page that does have bookmarks.

@rainpaw: I am not sure whether I understand what arrangement you have in mind. Let's discuss a specific example, let's say page 1 has keywords `first´ and `second´, page 2 has no keywords, page 3 has keyword `alpha´. LectureNotes allows for arrangements
Code:
page 1
  first
  second
page 2
page 3
  alpha
and
Code:
keywords
  alpha
  first
  second
Which arrangement do you have in mind?

Yes, I kind of guessed because of the way the sorted ones went, but yes, to me, that would be much more helpful and easy to use/navigate! :) The extra pages get in the way imo

Hi Acadoid, I have some problems getting to get custom file location working. I'm on marshmallow, my extsd has been renamed to 1DBC-18FE since this happened I can't seem to get lecturenotes to accept this location. Could you lend me a hand here? Thanks man

@Chinaboy5216: Which path do you use? Note that paths in Android are case-sensitive, so that a name `1DBC-18FE´ is not the same as `1dbc-18fe´.
I'm using /storage/1DBC-18FE/Lecturenotes, with 5.1.1 this worked perfectly but with M not, i really don't understand why.

Tested again just now and i get a message: "This app needs a directory at the media/shared/external storage (SD card) to store the notebooks."

Thanks for your help Acadoid, really appreciate this.

@Chinaboy5216: Android 6.0 (MARSHMALLOW) allows to revoke requested app permissions. Please ensure in the device's system settings that the requested STORAGE permission is not revoked for LectureNotes (and neither for PDFView, in case you wish to import PDF files).
Hello Acadoid,

this was the issue, thank you so much for helping me out on this!! Learned some stuff again :p

Lost?

I updated my firmware and had to restore Lecturenotes from a titanium backup. However, this seemed to overwrite the folder with all the notebooks, and so I have lost those I made after the backup was taken. Any way to recover these?

LN sudden lag

Hi Acadoid, I have been using LN for a couple of years and I have been generally happy with it. However, recently I am experiencing significant lag while using it on Galaxy Tab S. Once I start using LN the performance is as expected (great!) for the the first couple of lines of notes that I write, and then suddenly significant lag is observed. I have observed this behaviour to repeat itself on restarting the device, and after returning to use the app after not using it for a while. Just restarting LN appears not to stop the lag. In the past I was able to use the app without lag for hours.

I have not observed this lagging problem working on the same notebook using Galaxy S5, and for this device LN continues to work great. Both Tab S and S5 are running Android 6.0.1 and I did upgrade both recently. However, I am not certain if these lagging problems started occurring at the same time as I did the upgrade. The LN directory on both devices is synchronized using Synology DS Cloud. I also observe this lagging behaviour on a newly started notebook in a non-synchronized folder.

I hope that you can help with this.

@mmmmario: Difficult to say what causes the delay, but I am pretty sure that it is not LectureNotes.

One thing you could try is to install the trial version of LectureNotes on your Tab S (the trial and the full version are independent apps so that there is no interference) and see whether the problem occurs as well. Make sure that you use the same notebook paper size, input method etc. (do not setup synchronization for the trial version, though). The reasoning behind this test is that Android performs an `optimization´ of installed apps upon upgrade, which can cause all kind of weird effects, whereas the trial version will be guaranteed not to be effected.
