@gollyzila: The app supports multiple layers, you can put the imported image/PDF into the first layer and write/erase in the second layer. Note that the layer icon is hidden by default and needs to be unhidden in the app's settings.

I wish that I could reply to users comment in Google Play (or that users put them in a forum as you did allowing me to help).

@grimloktt: I am still puzzled by the problem with the external SD card. There is no specific Android permission for the external SD card. I guess that you have double-checked that the path you entered is correct?

Would you pls provide instructions to properly set it up? I'll make sure I'm doing it correctly.

Hello,
I am thinking of buying Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 because of your app. As i don't have tablet to test it I'd like to ask if your app supports the following functionality or if there is any possibility it could support it in the near future. Please check this video of Livescribe pen to see what I am thinking about... link: amazon(dot)com/gp/mpd/permalink/m3EU8BT86STVOP/ref=ent_fb_link
(sorry, I can't post normal link yet)
I mean if I tap a word on the screen (paper), it starts playing previously recorded audio that was recorded at the time of writing that word. That would be killer feature!

Have you thought of making a youtube video showing off all your app possibilities? Unfortunately, I don't have any possibility to test it live before buying the tablet and for me it's the main reason to buy it.

Good luck with your app!

Thanks for your reply. I remember Google Play had an update that now allows developers to reply to users' comments.

@grimloktt: The path to the external SD card depends on the device, but it should usually be something like /mnt/external_sd, so that an app directory /mnt/external_sd/LectureNotes might be a possible choice.

@Muskwa: LectureNotes in combination with LectureRecordings allows to search your recordings in the same way as showing in the video that you posted: Open your notebook in `Notebook replay´, choose `Search recordings´ in the main menu, and click on the area in question.

@gollyzila: Hmm, I do not see anything like this in my developer console at Google Play, and I never saw any developer reply in Google Play either. Are you sure about this?

@acadoid: Is it possible to preserve the paper pattern when exporting tagged pages or is that a headache for you? The pattern is preserved when exporting to pdf and also when sharing one page, but when exporting multiple pages without going through the pdf process, the pattern disappears. To preserve the pattern, I currently export tagged pages to pdf, then open the new document using ezPDF and then share the document to evernote for filing.

@werpnst8: The page pattern is a property of the notebook, not of notebook pages; notebook pages only contain what you write. So, when you copy notebook pages from one notebook to another, they are drawn on top of the page pattern of the target notebook. Only in cases in which notebook pages (including layers) are `flattened´ such as sharing a notebook page to another app or when exporting to PDF, the paper pattern is drawn (this can be disabled in the app's setting, though). One way to preserve the page pattern is to use custom paper pattern in the target notebook with different standard paper pattern according to page number (there is a corresponding example on the app's help page in the custom paper pattern section). The ansatz that you describes suffers from the problem that you can erase the paper pattern (which became part of your writing).

@gollyzila: Many thanks for the link. Curious, so far I have not seen any reply of a developer. Are you aware of such case?
The makers of Out of Milk have replied to a few users. The interesting thing is that they are not a Top Developer yet. Maybe you can go through a process to get reply capabilities in the Play Store?

name of the pages

I am trying to figure how to identify a book that you export. It is composed by pages and into the application you can define an index for each page as you decide. It is great. But when you export and generate the zip file, this compressed has pages named "page 1", "page 2", etc, no indication in the name about the index of each one.

Thanks.

Great app - I've just got a Note 10.1 and am looking to use this for work. Its pretty powerful already and I'm on the cusp of purchasing. I like most of all the pencil settings.

Is there any was to use templates for documents other than importing as a PDF or image? I'm thinking things like the ones in S-note such as the meeting notes with boxes at the top and continuing pages without said boxes? This would be really useful.

The deal breaker is this though... I can't use Dropbox at work and as such could really do with a PDF export (or even better "share") directly to email rather than a zip file. Is this something that is possible or in the pipeline? I can do this through Adobe reader but if it was slick and embedded it would be great.

@beginner: I am not fully sure whether I understand the question. The keywords are store in files `key1.txt´, `key2.txt´, etc.

@al_kaholik: You are referring to page pattern in the background? LectureNotes has a custom paper pattern using a JavaScript interface, so that you can construct any background that you like (there are several examples given on the app's help page and also in several examples have been posted in xda-developers forums).

You can enable `view PDF after export´ or `share PDF after export´ in the app's settings. The latter should bring up all apps that can accept PDF, and your email app should be among them.

Acadoid, thanks for the reply. It's what I'm planning to do.

I'll take a look at three help to see them. And onto my next question, perhaps waiting too much(!) Single note pages rather than note books, third would bring perfect for meetings; I know not three initial target market. S-notes does some things I like but the features of Lecture Notes are much more comprehensive ad rhetoric handwriting feels and looks so much more fluid.

@al_kaholik: I am not sure whether I understand the difference between a single note page and a notebook containing a single page. That you do not directly see your writing on the board? Or that you have to give a name to the notebook? You can use the `time stamp´ functionality for the notebook name to avoid the latter.

Got that now, thank you. Javascript is a struggling point for me - I'll have to have a look later for templates. All I'm after is a margin!

I'm fully paid up and look forward to more updates - especially easier conversion from handwriting to text.

I have just started checking out LectureNotes and this thread so I am way behind but I wanted to mention that when you are typing in the path like for external sdcards that the android path statment is case sensitive like passwords.

Can't you just post a comment like a user does but refer to the comment you want to answer?

Would it be possible to add an exit button or menu item? I find it much more comfotable when I am able to exit an app when I am done using it.
