Mine works with third party apps like Apple Music. I'm on a Note 8, but I would think it would be the same on other models. For things like Instagram I had to make my own custom icon and assign it to the app. I would think it should be pretty simple for the phone to just make icons based off app by itself. I also agree that we should have the option of having the LEDs on all the time. So if anyone from Samsung is reading this, please include that in a future update. If I had known the clock or music player weren't on constantly, I most likely wouldn't have bought the case.
