Left my moto x screen on all night

Hey all,

I'm new to the moto x and well it was left under a pillow charging and the screen stayed on, just got it yesterday. Everything looks good and the screen is fine under further inspection, should I be worried about burn in or anything or did I just text the screen for a while.

PS I actually don't know if it was on the whole time it was just warm when picked it up so I assumed it was. I had an alarm going off at the same time so maybe it was woken up my that

Oh I'm.not cyber bullying by any means. Jus think before u post. The phone won't let the screen stay on. Especially under a pillow. The sensor will turn then screen off anyway

I wouldn't worry about it. The battery was what made the phone warm. Totally legitimate worry though. My 3DS has a tendency to come out of sleep when closed and my old Galaxy S's screen turned itself on in my pockets all the time so it isn't that crazy of a conclusion to draw.

Unless you changed the display sleep option to never (which I'm not sure is even possible), or checked the option to never sleep while charging (think that one's in developer options), the display wouldn't have stayed on all night.

It was warm because it was under a pillow and couldn't dissipate the heat properly. If it had been too warm, the phone would have shut itself off.

Basically, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't suggest leaving your phone under a pillow while charging... Heat is one of the primary foes of electronics and can cause an array of damage and issues... That would be more concerning then leaving the screen on for hours, in my opinion.

unless it takes all night to charge... which it doesnt. i doubt it was still charging. i dunno about yours. but my x charges from zero to hero in a couple hours.

My Moto X does the same thing, the screen does not turn off while charging unless I turn it off, even if I leave it under my pillow. This is an option under Developer Options which is initially hidden in the settings, you can access the Moto X Development options by going to Settings: About Phone: and then tap Build Number 7 times (forum wont let me post link to the Moto X support page with the details).

Although I never turned this on or accessed the developer options on my Moto X my phone would stay awake while charging. My thought is that on my old HTC I had it turned on under developer options and through my settings being backed up to my google account it carried over to my Moto X without ever having to access the developer options (my wifes Moto X does not stay on while charging).
@strictlyphat - you need to eat your own words and "Just think before u post". Comments like yours are why some people hate posting in forums, but I guess you will always run into "big shots" who think they know everything without knowing anything.
