Possibly silly question... I searched this thread using "change icons,"but it wasn't at all fruitful. So: is it possible to change the icons on the bottom bar? I don't use Messaging or Contacts enough to want them on the "front" screen, but I do use both Settings and Task Manager. I like the ICS theme, and the icon style, but not being able to change out the icons I want is a little unnerving.

Also, since loading this rom, my phone is running really HOT. I'm on the phone with the battery charging (something I've done before) and the phone is actually making my ear sweat, and it's hot to the touch. Is this normal for this rom?

There is the ICS launcher in the market by team syndicate that allows you to that and a whole lot more.

As far as your phone getting hot during use, we haven't had any complaints about it I'm thinking its possibly a sign of an aging battery.

I would reflash the ROM, full wipe, and don't do any tibu system restores, just restore apps through tibu.
And you can customize the the main launcher (bottom bar) in the app drawer, by selecting customizable grid from the menu, then when you click the menu again, select edit. Then you can change the icons by drag and drop.

Has anyone else experienced a general bugginess/slowdown after a few days to a week of using Legend 4/5? I love the ROM, but I swear, everything goes to hell after a little use. I have to pull my battery daily due to extreme lag/lockups when using this one. Totally sucks, because I love Legend...

It sounds like you prolly have a rouge app sucking up your available ram. When you are doing your restore are you restoring any system data?? 9 times out of 10 that is gonna be the culprit. If not might wanna look what apps are running to see any high battery use. High battery use can sometimes indicate an app using alot of ram.

Negative. Whenever I flash, I restore my stuff the old school way. >_<

I figured it had something to do with the RAM being so low, but I reflashed Legend 4 twice because of the issue, and flashing Legend 5 didn't help either. I literally flashed Legend 5, and within an hour of having a few apps installed, the phone started acting up. I got a call and the slider wouldn't answer it, and the SMS app kept closing immediately after opening...

Cleaning up the ram via the task manager helped for a moment, but the general bugginess still ensues... Seems like the more I use the phone, the more buggy and unstable it becomes, especially the SMS app.

May be time for a good clean Full Wipe Stock KK4 Reflash...
But before u do, try this...using Root Explorer or similar go to etc/ cwm5sc and delete the "cwm5sc" folder. Reboot. It will rebuild the cwm5sc. And then see how it goes. If no good after a while, then go to the Stickied Master One Click Thread in the Dev Forum, post #3 and do a Odin/Heimdall (no bootloaders) back to stock kk4 and then proceed with Odin corn kernel to get cwm and etc...

@ yomaster I just happened to notice you were on Mosaic. Which boot loaders do you have i9000 or i897? If you still have the i9000 boots that could be an issue. If you are then take the advice of 4-2ndtwin and flash the kk4 he mentioned but use the one with bootloaders.

@4-2ndtwin: Will do. I was just reading about doing that in the Legend thread. If it doesn't work, I'll do a full wipe flash of stock KK4 and see where it puts me. I might roll back to Corn 6.03 just to see what happens.

@Robm1911: I'm still on i897 bootloaders. I never flashed over to the i9000 bootloaders when I flashed Mosiac IX. Worked fine, other than the charging bug. I actually thought the charging bug had worked itself out due to using the i897 boots, but, after a few days, the GB charging bug reared its ugly head. :-\

Last week, I uninstalled my Audiogalaxy app (one of the first apps I install whenever I flash), and a lot of the bugginess has gone away. I'm beginning to wonder if the AG app doesn't jive with Corn 7.06 or its tweaks, because installing it messes with the screen timeouts while music is playing, even though the setting to do that is disabled in AG. Here's what I've noticed:

Upon initial install of the Audiogalaxy app, playing music via the app will disable the screen timeout. Manually locking the screen results in the screen waking up every time the next song in the playlist begins. The screen won't turn off when that happens unless the lock button is pressed again. HOWEVER, after a few days, all of those issues disappear, and the phone becomes slow, buggy, and generally unstable over some time, generally a day or so. Upon rebooting, the phone works like it should, but given some use, the problems come back within a day.

I've looked it up online and in the reviews, and no one reports these problems, which is why I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with the way Corn 7.06 works with Audiogalaxy, or if some of the tweaks (leftover or not) are mucking things up. Most people who use AG probably aren't running Corn 7.06, and most people running Corn 7.06 probably don't use AG, so if this IS what's going on, it would make sense that it isn't really reported. I could be wrong, but I'm just throwing the idea out here based on my own experiences. I didn't have any issues with AG when I was on Mosiac or Serendipity. Since this flash of Legend 5, I haven't enabled any tweaks other than the overclock, but I'll try deleting the "cwm5sc" folder and reinstalling the app, then get back to you guys.

Update: I deleted the "cwm5c" folder and reinstalled AG. No screen timeout issues, etc. so far. Disabled BLN, and enabled OC. Seeing how it goes for the next couple days.

Um.. excuse me if this is a total noob question.
I recently do a full wipe on my captivate to kk4. After that, i installed the legend kk4 ics edition.
Everything went well when installing, the problem comes from when i want to play any games. It would lag considerably and the frame skip is really annoying. I've tried the lag fix option in the cwm and have done everything that i could to make it faster but to no avail.
One of the games i am talking about is samurai 2. It Runs smoothly on ics but when i used the kk4 it lags heavily.

Anyone care to help? Any help would be appreciated.

This used to happen to me whenever I had too many apps running in the background taking up all the RAM. I would have to clear the RAM before I started playing, and then the game would run smoothly (most of the time).

I went to download Samurai 2 in the Market to test it out myself and report on the performance, but I don't really want to spend the money on it. It seems to be pretty graphically-intensive, though.

I'd suggest downloading Autokiller Memory Optimizer from the Play store, enable its memory tweak, and kill your unneeded background apps before launching your games. It might be a good idea to use it to change your minfree setting a little higher, too. See if it works, and report back with your results!

FYI: Despite its name, Autokiller isn't one of those apps that incessantly kills every background app. It just helps your device manage its RAM a little better, and includes the option to manually kill background apps/processes. I've found it works pretty well.

Hope this helps!

Thanks !
Wiping back to kk4 now. (I'm using ics at the moment)

Will report once i installed it.

UPDATE:

unfortunately, it still lags. i don't know what is wrong in my phone but it just won't play games nicely in GB.

just out of curiosity, what is the rom you've installed on your device? is it legend 5 ics themed?

UPDATE NO 2:
well it seems that the only game that lags now is the samurai II
quite strange seeing that even modern combat 3 runs smoothly on it.

The problem with the lag is possibly the tweaks, try deleting the folder /system/etc/cwm5sc with root explorer or similar.

Yeah, I'm running Legend 5 ICS Edition. What kernel are you using? I've experienced quite a bit of slowdown on Corn 7.06, even after deleting the cwm5sc folder, running Autokiller, etc. Perhaps try installing the Corn 6.03 kernel?

I'm beginning to wonder if Samurai II doesn't run well on older devices running GB... Have you looked at any reviews for issues such as the one you're experiencing?

The problem with the lag is possibly the tweaks, try deleting the folder /system/etc/cwm5sc with root explorer or similar.
I was running pretty solid for a couple weeks, started to get some slowdown, and took the advice of deleting the "cwm5sc" folder. It made it better for a couple of days, but I've begun to experience the same old issues again. A couple days ago, my phone rebooted to the spinning android animation while browsing through Gmail. Yesterday, my phone slowed down terribly, so I launched Autokiller to attempt to fix the issue myself, and noticed that I had a mere 23 mb of RAM left before my phone locked up and went unresponsive. That's WITH having minfree increased (50, 60, 70), as well as having the memory management tweak enabled in Autokiller (enabled this in attempt to alleviate the issues, no dice...).

No idea what could be causing this. BetterBatteryStats doesn't seem to be reporting anything out of the ordinary, and neither Autokiller nor Watchdog report any rogue apps taking up loads of RAM or CPU power. I HAVE, however, noticed multiple processes of certain apps present in Autokiller (Dialer, especially), but I'm not sure if this is normal. It seems the phone isn't handling its RAM properly, but I'm completely stumped as to how or why...

strange... mine just started to smooth up after i flashed a 7.06 corn kernel. (i was on 6.03 before).
i think there's an app that's hogging up your ram.
if you want, you can change the lmk setting in the recovery (i don't know if it exist in 6.03 but it did exist in 7.06)
and change it into something higher like 70 mb or something.
that did the trick for me, other than installing the auto killer and the advanced task killer.

oh yeah, one more thing.
looks like the samurai game is really a sucker for samsung's gb. it went smoothly on my friends xperia devices and my other graphically intense games just went smoothly in my cappy (nova and modern combat series) so i'll just settle down with not being able to play it in full speed but hey, at least now i can play all the games i have without it force closing on me after i downloaded gigabytes of game data. (majority of gameloft's games doesn't work on ics)

Chiming in on an old subject

I flashed Legend 5 about a week or week and a 1/2 ago and and yesterday I was uninstalling a couple of apps and when I was done, almost, my phone rebooted and when it came back I had no web browser, no messaging, and no contacts apk's.
All three just gone. Nothing in TiBu, or ROM Toolbox. Vanished into the void.
So, I reflashed Legend 5 again and everything was cool except SuperSU and TiBu both said I have no root. SuperSU failed the binary check/update and I uninstalled and re-installed it through the market and did an update that the market popped up with. It accepted the update and still the failed binary-no root found pop up.
I just flashed MPD 2.0 and Superuser is doing it too, and also TiBu still. ??? But I have root. I have root access through Root Explorer and ROM Toolbox. Strange.
I love this hobby.

( got it working by fresh market install of SuperSu andTiBu and 2 reboots)

Glad you got it going, but in case it happens again (which I doubt now that you got it fixed lol) I read a couple remarks on the market stating to go into the super su settings and uncheck and recheck enable super su.

Sorry for the late response.

Hey robm1911, I meant to thank you , and I just now noticed that I hadn't. Sorry. You know, lots of people, I've noticed, had been talking about lag, and slow down. I am having major freezing up while browsing, and while typing. Game play is pretty well jacked up also. I've deleted lots of files and apps. I just now removed the cwm5sc file, so I'll see if that works.
