Success:D
If your phone doesn't respond when you must get it into fastboot - give it another try and start tapping power button right after you confirmed that you "have your phone in your hands, etc". It seems like there is very small time window to do it, so doing so definitely helps.
Yay, almost shat my pants due to happiness:D

So yeah. it's out.

For those who updated to HBOOT 1.0, sorry, but we warned about the OTA updates multiple times. Those who don't listen get bitten.

I'll need some testers soon to try and find a way to downgrade HBOOT 1.0 to earlier releases, but I would need:

-a linux box to work from (ssh)
-prolonged access to a Legend device, with no concern for the running ROM, at least 24 hours.
-good HTC warranty (ofcourse I won't try some uber-experimental bricking-risk method, but it's a disclaimer nonetheless)
Hi ieftm, just want to ask still no solution for the HBOOT downgrade?

Current HBOOT (1.x) does not allow to downgrade himself. So, it wouldn't work. It have worked only at HBOOT 0.43.
The one thing you can reach by swapping mtd0 is that you can flash previous versions of rom (like Eclair), but HBOOT will remain the same. You can try it yourself.
