you are confused... root is root, recovery don't is root... you can have custom recovery without root
I know what root is. My Phone was rooted a few days ago and I had the Leica Camera.
I mean problems like Apps that detect root (I know you can bypass this) and another problem I had was that my Phone sometimes wouldn't turn on until I keep pressing the Power Button so the Phone restarts several times (I don't know what caused this issue). There are a few more problems I have with root and that's why I don't want root for my Phone for daily use. This issues would be really bad for example while traveling or when you are at the Airport and suddenly your Phone won't turn on or an App won't open and there are a few other scenarios were this would be so bad. I know the chance isn't that high, anyways, I want to be completely sure that nothing like that happens to my phone (again) so I removed root.
Stock ROM shouldn't have any problems and without root I don't have problems. MIUI 14 is really stable and good.

i tried your leica build ,flashed through magisk.
but unfortunately didn't workd , device booted but black screen, unusable.had to flash rom again.
same way i tried 2/3 more Times.result is same.

As you can see the Name of it contains MIUI 14. This Build only works with MIUI 14. The developer has provided us one for MIUI 13 too. I can send it if you want. I'm unsure if the Mi 8 Pro has MIUI 14 or 13 because it's pretty old I think. By the way, the developer has discontinued the Leica Project but it's still usable/installable.Hello
Sure I can. First things first. You need root. If your device isn't rooted, forget it or root your device. It isn't hard. There are many videos on YouTube. Download all required files. I've attached them. You can either download Core Patch or WooBox to be able to Modify a System App. I actually use both because WooBox has some nice Customization Features. I recommend using Magisk 25.2 because the newer Versions didn't work for me. The APK can be found on the official Magisk Website. Go to Magisk and turn on Zygisk in the Settings. Then I highly recommend flashing the Bootloop Saver. Afterwards, you need to flash LSPosed. Then reboot. Then install the APK's and make sure System Framework is ticked in LSPosed which you can enter from the Notification Center when clicking on the LSPosed Loaded Notification. If the Notification doesn't show up, LSPosed wasn't installed correctly. Reboot again. Then delete all data of Camera App. Don't worry, it won't delete any photos. Then flash the MIUI Leica Camera Magisk Mod. You'll be asked three questions. First two volume up and last one volume down. Then reboot. Before doing that, make sure you have no other App called Camera or any Camera App or it won't work. If the Camera App is just gone reboot again. If it still doesn't appear make sure everything is done correctly and reboot again.
I am not responsible for any bricks while rooting or other kind of damage. You are choosing to do this Modifications.
IMPORTANT EDIT: This only works with MIUI. Custom ROMs and GSI ROMs aren't supported because the Anx Camera isn't integrated. Only MIUI 13 and up is supported. I've tested both MIUI 13 and 14 with this Mod. MIUI Software Region shouldn't stop it from working.

The ones provided from the Leader of this Thread didn't work for me. The one I've provided only works for MIUI 14 and there is another one only for MIUI 13 and yes, those are Magisk Modules. But I do have another Leica Camera Magisk Module that should work for your Device with PE Plus and all other Custom ROMs.

Okay, so one File only works with A13 AOSP ROMs (look at the Filename) and the other one should work with every Custom ROM. Just want to say that I am not responsible if your device gets bricked etc. Both are tested and were working for me. Please let me know if it worked or if you've experienced any issue.okey brother

Both are Magisk Modules if I remember correctly. It won't flash anyways via Magisk if it's only for Recovery so I would try Magisk first.
Hmm... Both didn't work? I see you are using a Redmi Note 10 Pro. There is a Custom ROM that has Leica Camera inbuilt. Maybe you want to try it...

3I have spend last few days testing and experimenting with different Leica Camera Mod versions especially for AOSP based ROMs like Lineage OS which I'm using as a main ROM.
There 2 Lineage OS flavors available UNOFFICIAL and OFFICIAL. The Lineage OS Official has some vague semblance of a photo program that is far beyond the capabilities of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Camera full potential using Miui Camera or Leica Camera app.
Unfortunately the newest Leica Camera version 4.9 or 5.0 Magisk modules below are working PARTIALLY on Lineage OS OFFICIAL and UNOFFICIAL probably the same will be on other AOSP ROMs:
NOT WORKING: Photo, Portrait, Documents mode.
WORKING: Pro, Video, Night, Long Exposure, 108 MP (on some), Time-lapse, Panorama, Slow motion, VLOG, Short video
The problem is that the default startup mode is Photo and imediatelly after the initial setup the Photo mode exits with the error that the program is not connecting to the camera and will exit in 3 seconds.
In order to work around this problem you have to move FAST the slider to some other mode like Video OR after the Initial setup hold your finger on the Camera icon and create a link to the Video mode, this way you can start the program directly in this mode and no 3 seconds error will occur.
Configuration instructions:
- go to Settings / Preserve settings activate everything including Camera mode - with this the Leica Camera will remember the last mode used (Pro, Video and etc) and will start in it, this way no 3 seconds error will occur.
- go to Settings / Customize / Feature Layout - and remove the Portrait and other modes with 3 sec problem.
- go to Settings and activate both: Enable advanced settings AND Enable lab options, restart Settings and after that activate "Turn on parallel processing" - with this ON the Photo and Portrait mode still are NOT working, BUT there is no more the annoying 3 seconds error and Camera exit ...

The main benefits of the Leica Camera Mod for AOSP vs best GCam is the Pro mode function.
When shooting MACRO in Pro mode (Leica 4.9 only!) you have much better focus control. Unfortunately in 5.0 version the Macro switch in Pro mode is not available.
The RAW files produced from Leica in Pro mode are much better quality than the RAW files produced from the best GCam version for Redmi Note 10 Pro as is the LMC 8.4 GCam from Hasli.
P.S. For all AOSP users on Redmi Note 10 Pro I strongly recommend the LMC 8.4 GCam version and this config: 20230916-LMC-v8.4R18-Lupo-config.xml
The config is optimized for the Redmi Note 10 Pro hardware and you receive images with the best quality.
(If the pictures produced with this config are a bit too Saturated for you (I like them this way) you can adjust the Saturation level in Settings / Photo Processing / Main Camera / Main settings / Saturation)

I have just extracted The BEST working Leica Camera Mod version from MiuiVersexV ROM.
The Sharpness slider in this version in Pro mode have the best accuracy and thanks of that the JPGs quality is as Good as from probably the best tweaked GCam Mods.

I have been using and experimenting with many different ROMs in order to find the best working MIUI Camera version on a AOSP based ROM like the well known crDroid or Lineage OS and etc.
I have invested hundreds of hours experimenting with dozens off different GCam Mods and configurations.
I have to say that after 1.5 years of looking I have found it!
The Leica camera Mod is really the Top of the Top camera app for the sweet camera hardware!!!
Few days ago as usual I experimented with few different new ROMs and in the Redmi Note 10 Pro Telegram group I found the MIUI 12 Verse ROM
According to the XDA rules of you like you can download this ROM from the link published above.

The MUIU Verse ROM is delivering Android 12 OS and is working just perfect.
It offer a brilliant level of MIUI customization, it's completely MIUI debloated and clean, the battery life is perfect, but most important it comes with Leica camera v.4.7.23012 Mod from Sevtinge

If you are using a MIUI based ROM probably YES, but you have to download the Leica Mod from Sevtinge from the Github link below and test is it working OK or not.

The pre-installed Leica camera is working very stable. I have tested it mainly shutting pictures and videos in the Pro camera mode but I have tested briefly the all other modes and haven't found any problems.
When I was using the MIUI Camera, I mainly shoot RAW in Pro mode and after that I use Lightroom to edit and export the final images.
With Leica camera I found that I don't have to do it, because the customization and the configuration level in the app are SO POWERFUL that now the produced jpg images are so GOOD and almost ready for publishing, that I don't have to spend more time with RAW editing in Lightroom.
In the second post below I'll make a detailed review of all the configurations I use in the app for producing my jpg images.
Shortly:
- Leica Vibrant and Authentic color modes
- Compete control with sliders over the Saturation, Sharpness and Contrast
- More Options & LAB Options menus unlocked in the Camera Settings
- Supermoon mode
- All other advanced functions from the MIUI Camera are available and working
- The 108mp mode is working OK like in the original MIUI Camera
They are ages better than the jpg produced from the original MIUI Camera and much much better than the best tweaked GCam Mod available for Redmi Note 10 Pro.
The level of the color and the detail in images are Awesome.
Finally we face the ability easily to customize the Camera app in our phone in order to produce jpg images as we like it: more Vibrant, or more Natural, more smooth or with sharper details and etc.

I"m using the latest TWRP 3.7.0-12 available for sweet and with it the Lineage OS 20 installation is as simple as possible:
erase data
flash ROM
flash Magisk
that's it! Everything is working flawlessly, especially the Leica camera Mod.
