Just got my k910 and can't wait to root & install new ROMs. Want to make sure I fully understand the steps before I start. Here are the list of steps I need to do based on my reading of this thread, and with my questions

Root with RootGenius_en
Unlock 4.4.x bootloader
Install TWRP Easy & Clean
Philz Touch CWM ( since I have RWRP, do I need this?)
Install TWRP v2.8.1.0 (newest version?)
Latest K910 Roms (my phone actually has VIBEUI_V2.0_1447_7.129.1_ST_K910, which is newer than VIBEUI_V2.0_1441_7.2.1_DEV_K910, right? so I can skip this?)
Install Google Play - Recovery
Install Google play - GMS TOOLS (what is GMS TOOLS?)
Unlock Lenono Weather Cities.

Is this correct steps?

let's see...
i will presume that you have 4.2.2 instaled on you phone.

1. root with root genious (this will be only needed IF you haven´t bought it already rooted)
2. run TWRP
3. install new version from here (this may take a few days to dw )
4. root again (only if TWRP didn´t do it when you reboot the phone after the rom installation)
5. install latest TWRP v2.8.1.0 (optional)
6. unlock bootloader (optional)
7. install google play from recovery (only this one. the other is the same but another method)
8. unlock weather (optional)

hope this will be clear and helpfull

Yes.

By the way, check you you haven't any 3rd party recovery installed by rebooting and keep pressed both volume keys till lenovo logo appear. If you have another than lenovo one skip #2 as well

The recovery is showing "lenovo", so #2 "run TWRP" is still needed. but having difficulty...

when I tried to run flashrec.exe to Install TWRP, I got output as in attached screenshot. the phone had a buzz and then just display the "lenovo" logo forever. after 10 minutes, I hold the power button to turn the phone off. after boot to recovery, it is still lenovo, TWRP is not there.

after repeat and failed twice, I tried to root first(run RootGenius_en.exe), during the run, the phone rebooted a couple times, then it said failed to root and suggested me to manual root...

what could be wrong or missing?

problem solved

i need help please. i bought my k910e with 4.2.2 and i try to install TWRP Easy & Clean from 1 post.
after the cmd windows say it done. my phone reboot to lenovo logo after that screen went dark only blue light turn on.
now i can enter TWRP by push VOL - and + and power at the same time for few seconds.
my PC see drive but just 100MB drive not 16GB
any idea to bring back my phone to life?? please

just want to share my experiences from problem above. as i mentioned i can enter TWRP so ADB stilling working.
i used ADB sideload "teamw.in/ADBSideload" to push new ROM to my K910 and flash it. then my K910 came back to life.
strange thing is first i downloaded ROM for K910e from "vibeui.com/list" but cannot flash it. from CLI said this ROM for is "kitone" but the device is "kiton"
so i downloaded another from from needrom which is for K910 and it successfully flashed.
right now i am using crowd ROM and it's work great. thankyou alot

just update... the root method didn't work for me. after tons of search online, I found that I had to revert back to one of previous stock rom which is 4.2.2, and then root it, and flash to newest ROM!

I have an issue to connect to corporate exchange server. In the settings->accounts, when I tried to add account, "Corporate" or "Exchange server" is not there. How can I connect to my account in corporate exchange server so that I can synch email and calendar to my phone?

Update

I installed this version of TWRP from the OP by loading CWM via adb. All went well but when I try to boot into TWRP it doesn't boot. It boots into the stock recovery if I press volume - with power buttons, boots normal with volume + with power buttons & hangs at the boot logo with both volume +/- with power. Am I doing something wrong? Would love to have custom recovery without having to use adb.

I finally got TWRP 2.8.1.0 installed!!! My issue was that the bootloader was still locked. Once I ran the batch file (listed in OP) to unlock it... BAM works!!!!!

Now after getting my damaged phone fixed & returned I did the update to 4.4.2 on my 2nd phone and been running a week now with no issued. So now my issue is with my other one that I waited to see how the update ran before updating that one. I did a full backup (all 11 partitions selected) in TWRP of the one already updated & working great to basically clone it. Transferred the backup & restored all 11 partitions on the other phone. Now it won't detect the sim in slot 1. Could I have screwed up the radio by doing the full restore? It worked before. Any help world be much appreciated.

Rooted my K910 and upgraded from 4.2 to 4.4.2 but lost the root after completed installation.

Just did Bootloader Unlock my K910 that is upgraded to 4.4.2, all went well until after the phone gone reboot but never power on again. The stack.bat showing waiting for device. Tried running stack.bat saying can't find device.

Appreciate all helps / advice to recover this.

Hardbrick lenovo k910e

hello, I have a big problem, I can not use any flash program that does not enter adb mode or download, you were using the QPST to repair a brick and the process will stop at first, now DO NOTHING, if I connect the usb just turn the red two seconds led and nothing but the pc sounds like an incoming connection but not any connected device appears I've had in xp in windows 7 and windows 8.1, I have tried everything and none recognizes it, I think it does not switch download in any way, I tried everything, pressing down vol + v-, have tried without battery and no nothing, I'm so lost, not to search but it is very rare, if I remove the battery does absolutely nothing, not on device nowhere've tried 3 different pc with usb and nothing more, I think has no solution because I think it has also deleted the download mode (blue LED), please help .. and who is not asking more:crying:

hello. i want to take the chance to thank the OP for this helpful guide. really useful

i've recently bricked my k910, screen wont turn on. then i followed this tutorial using QPST and finally it turn on. but suddenly the touchscreen wont work. when on the welcome screen i cant touch nothing. i've open the back case and just messing around with the battery. i dont think i have done any wrong to the digitizer or something.

anyone of you guys faced similar problems? hope you guys got solution for me. i really appreciate it.

Hi, a friend gave me a Lenovo K910e that he bought from China that in his attempt to unlock it he soft-bricked it and asked me if I could return it to stock.

Currently, it boots into the Lenovo logo and stays there. I CAN enter into the stock Lenovo recovery but I have no idea where to get an update.zip to flash in it to return it to stock.

ADB does not recognize the phone (not in recovery and not in fastboot mode)
Fastboot DOES recognize the phone. When I run "fastboot oem device-info" it returns that the tamper flag is false and the unlock flag true, yet, when I try to flash either the TWRP OR CWM recoveries it shows FAILED <remote: Locked>.
Trying to directly flash either recovery returns invalid data.
Also, when I type EITHER fastboot oem lock/unlock, in both cases it presents three dots "..." and stays there, nothing happens.

Could you perhaps help me as I am at my wit's end.

My PC has Windows 8.1 x64 and since it's not my phone I am not too keen on installing weird drivers that might botch my Windows and require a format (it took me 2 full days to properly flash the ADB drivers for my phone as it were as they weren't for Windows 8/8.1 and weren't recognized).

Lenovo K910 Turkish Rom and Google Playstore

Lenovo K910 phone after installing the font package to restart the phone itself and the Lenovo logo splash screen remained frozen moment came on the screen. I installed the original ROM with help later (English and Chinese). I want to use my phone Turkish and enter google play store. I am a novice and respectively explain on the phone what should I do?
