I have very annoying issue with music playback.
When playing music on BlackPlayer EX every ~2minutes music stops for a moment and then continues.
Happens on the latest firmware

All data still intact if wipe cache...

All data will loss if fuse user data...

If after Wipe cache has no positive effect, better just hard reset than update to Nougat...

The situation has become so worse these days that I can't even pick a call and answer (it freezes every time). Even my previous phones Xolo q1000 and yureka were better than this.

Just thought i'd start a thread for owners of the P2 to share any bugs ( and hopefully cures ) that we've come across so far . And to tidy up other threads that may get clogged with these issues .

i've had mine now for just over 2 weeks and so far its been somewhat of a disappointment. The issues i've come across so far are ...

1 - Audio sync .. regardless of app used the audio sync is out with the video . It gets even worse when trying to steam a video through a web browser ( and i've tried a few different ones just to make sure its not a chrome issue ) . streaming audio from internet radio is bad too . After 20 minutes or so the sound breaks up completely .

2 - Low volume in recorded videos .. The noise suppression / noise cancellation kicks in within one second when you record a video . what sound you are left with is similar to an old gramophone record .

3 - Notifications .. Seems to be an issue with the phone going into deep sleep , no notifications come through . I've read a few people saying turning off app optimization for the affected apps helps , but i don't think it makes any difference .

4 - tap to wake .. tap the screen twice , sorry 22 times to wake up the phone .

5 - SD card formatting .. freezes every time i try to format a memory card ( which has worked perfectly in galaxy S5 ) as internal or external memory .

6 - high CPU usage at idle .. I've seen this on a few other forums too . cpu starts sticking at 1.6ghz after the phone has been running for a few days . I've done a clean wipe and installed no other apps or removed any and its still present .


And the most amazing thing is i haven't seen any of these issues raised in any reviews of the phone either

So feel free to add any comments or fixes if you come across them . This could be a fantastic phone if only the gremlins are fixed .

And could you please state which firmware version your phone is running .. I'm on P2_056_uk

Hi there. The notification issue should be solved by turning off the never wake up tab in background app management in power manager settings. If it restricts the app to run in background then they stop giving notifications. One bug i found is you can't record the audio in slow motion video. Thanks.

Hey everyone, just yesterday I bought this phone, yesterday I was thrilled, today a bit less, we'll see next week...

Anyway, I got Gmail contacts sync problem.
I got about 650 contacts, it shows only 170. :/

I started reading this topic, got to page 6, but now decided to write about it, please let me know is there a solution for this problem?

I see at lenovo forums that people are complaining about this, and no solution there.
Please help. Thanks!

ok, started reading that topic on lenovo forums and realized that this sync problem started recently with Lenovo phones, so that's why nobody was talking about it here, the latest post was end of last year...
So we got a new bug here! And it is one hell of a bug.

I solved it somehow, for now, by exporting my contacts from google to vCard file and importing it to my phone,
but it is not a permanent solution, new contacts will not be saved. Hope Lenovo will fix this soon.

So we got a new bug here! And it is one hell of a bug.

I can confirm this bug started recently. Until about one month ago there was no problem. So this doesn't depend on a Lenovo firmware update (latest was in November 2017).
No idea of what caused the problem (ContactSync app update? Maybe. I don't remember when it was the last one.)
What I can say, as I also reported in the Lenovo P2 Community forum, is this:
a) I have also a Moto G2 and my wife has a Moto G5+ and neither of those phone is affected by this problem;
b) it is not a GMail web addressbook bug because I can perfectly sync about 1200 contacts of 3 different GMail accounts bidirectionally with Mozilla Thunderbird + its extension 'gContactsync'
If the defect persists I think I'll move to a custom ROM (if Lenovo reactivate its server in order to unblock the bootloader because - as reported in other threads here and in the Lenovo Community - there is also this problem!). At the moment I feel like a 'Lenovo prisoner'

Another bug discovered, beside problem with lower screen area touch screen (not responding), another (stupid) bug, on lock screen clock is hidden behind viber, cannot see it because of viber being in front of it.


Phone has pro's of course, battery is brutal (brutally good), it's pretty fast, wifi strength is excellent, sound (while talking) is also really good, also the signal (reception of mobile network) is great, all these things are better than with high class phones (I use S7 Edge beside this one).
But couple of stupid bugs ruin the whole impression.

hi i am using custom ROM MSM extended PIE 9.0 (unofficial). so the issues that i faced were on my Lenovo p2 device were of sd card formatting. i tried to format the sd card to use it as a internal but it did not proceed beyond 20%. now the card is not redable. The other issue i faced was that of double tap wake up. It worked only once or twice not more than that.
