I bought my second P2 today. It has the same sound interference issue as my first one :(

To reiterate, when listening on headphones and the volume is low (like listening to chillout or classical, meditation etc.) there is electrical type interference sound. I have been experimenting and have isolated to problem to WiFi. If I turn WiFi off on the phone it stops altogether. Also, I think that the more data that's transferring, the more interference.

It is there whatever is playing - music, Netflix etc. Even when notifications play it can be heard. Obviously if the volume is turned up it is far less/not noticeable but it is always there.

I have managed to capture a recording of the issue:

https://youtu.be/r0z6X7zB-pw

This was at low volume as it illustrates the problem best but it's clearly heard in the recording.
I captured this audio by using a 3.5mm audio cable to output the audio from my Lenovo P2 to the AUX-in on a speaker system. I then placed another phone next the speaker to record the audio using an audio recorder app. The uniform static background hiss is produced by the app.

I LOVE everything else about this phone but as someone that uses my phone for music for many hours a day I cannot ignore these sounds.
I find it hard to believe that I can be unlucky enough to get two faulty P2's so there must be many more with this issue if not all and no-one else has noticed the issue yet.

I have tried 4 different sets of headphones and the issue is the same.
just replied on Lenovo :D .. have a look on google , looks like its a fault with the whole lot of em not just the 2 you've had :(

That's because the issue is with the headphone jack not bluetooth ;)
I have had my P2 for 2 weeks now and I'm moderately pleased with it so far. I'm sorry to say this but I can't find any fault with using earphones, both Bluetooth and the headphone jack. Having seen the remarks here I have just tried it and there is no interference.

I have experienced some minor issues but I'll leave those until later ( assuming I can remember them using an 80 year old memory). :(

It's most noticeable when streaming music as it seems to be WiFi data transfer that is interfering.

Wifi battery Drain BUG ...

when i goto Power consumption details, i see WIFI draining battery ( i know its a BUG in Marshmallow itself, but CM13 builds did eliminate that bug) but Lenovo ROM didnt look at that issue :(

as a result, WIFI battery Drain is becoming more than my ScreenOnTime ..

is anyone else seeing it???

Hi, i am from India..

i tested my Sound via Headphone jack, installed CALM app, which produces slow sounds, i could clearly notice CHIRPING sounds :(

Headphone jack might be defective !!!

i have heard indian Units are manufacture by LENOVO, but UK units are manufactured by MOTO

is every variant getting this Sound???please some one Confirm it !!

Honestly I think that discussing those problems has no big sense. Probably Lenovo gave up Marshmallow development as Nougat for P2 is already in testing, so we will have new problems soon :)

I agree we probably wont see these issues fixed in MM , I started the thread so people could post issues in one place rather than in every other thread . But if the bugs are still present in N i will never ever buy another lenovo or motorola phone again !

I'm facing same issue. Mine is manufactured by moto also as it states on the box.

I'm also facing issue with garbled sound during calls on Bluetooth headsets and my radio is having a wierd issue.

Radio sound is only clear when screen is off which i found amusing as i never faced such an issue in any of the phones i bought. glad i dont use it at all so it doesn't bother me. But if lenovo put it there it should atleast work.

I did some testing about multitasking with P2 vs LG GS (2 GB RAM, running CM 13 so also android 6.0) and sadly I noticed that 4 GB of Ram is not used well - I opened the same apps on both devices and then went back to this apps to see if they will need to reload or maybe they stayed running in background in Ram. P2 managed to run maybe one app more than g2 and after that the "older" (earlier launched) apps starts to reload when I switched to them. I am running s62 ROW firmware. Did anybody noticed the same issue? Or maybe rooted users can check build.prop if there is some unusual setting for multitasking enabled? The same issue was with oneplus 3 and it was fault of some default setting which was killing apps to save battery (the same with xiaomi I think), but we don't need that with P2 and I would prefer to have maximum usage of huge 4 gigs of ram...

There's also an issue with the software buttons when hidden, the area they used to occupy cannot be used when hidden. Very noticeable with the keyboard, missing space bar etc.
Quite noticeable and annoying bug because being able to hide the buttons was definitely a selling point for me, next to the massive battery.

ive only had it a day but heres what ive noticed:

-screen seems to have a slight yellow tinge, this may just be because im coming from a different display tech though
-tap to wake is very hit and miss, more often than not it doesnt work

thats all so far really but i guess we will see how it fares as time goes on
