you can download it but it will fail to install.
it will be a waste of time. trust me.
you can't update a rooted rom
I have reverted back to stock S140 (non-rooted), then updated via S145, S149 to S152 and finally installed Marshmallow update.
Everything working well, no problem at all, all updates installed on first time.
I will wipe as well, as from my point of view, change from 5 to 6 is a big change and wipe is recommended..

You just went to 140 directly via QPST or you need to wipe, etc.,?
No wipe. Just installed Stock S140 on my rooted S152 via QFIL (QPST).
Then just updates via mobile phone menu.
i flashed the stock P1a42_S140_151111_ROW_PC ,but every time i try to update it it gives me error
"network connection failed try again"
however, network is good and downloading apps from google play is fine too
i tried to hard reset the device and wipe cache but it gives me the same error

Steps to Update Lenovo Vibe P1 to Marshmallow Manually
1)Please download the Update file from
2)Rename it to Update.zip and copy it to your SDCard .
3)Reboot your phone into the recovery mode by pressing ‘Power + Volume up + Volume Down‘.
4)Click on ‘Install Upgrade Package‘ and Select ‘Update.zip‘ .
It worked on my rooted P1a42 Rom. Now Mine is working in 6.0.1 .

can i use this method to update from stock P1a42_S140_151111_ROW_QPST to MM
or i have to uptade to P1a42_S152_160126_ROW first ??
i don't know why but it gives me this error when i'am using wifi but worked fine on mobile data even my wifi is working fine
it works with me when i use a vpn app and choose USA server
After Up to 6.0 I think battery is not good comparison to old one
Nope. I don't think so... It's as good as earlier, if not still better..

No . I was in Rooted Lollipop . I was getting signature error while trying OTA update . So I used the manual update method and it worked . Now the MM is working fine (No Root).

Upgrade your ROM to P1a42_S152_160126_ROW and then use the Manual update method.
That's great in a way because no need to follow long process of loading unrooted room and then downloading 4 updates to get android marshmallow.
But sad also. I wish root stayed [emoji6] after update because root is equally important.
I couldn't find a way to disable system apps or removing them like I didn't after root.

I did update my P1 to mm in 1st go and i also had rooted my phone. The problem arise when you uninstall system apps.
