Anyway, I think Kingroot will never add support for VIBE P1. It is not so much distributed phone as others. Not so much requests for root.
The only possibility I see is to wait for some Russian gurus and their hand-cooking. :p

Everyone, there is a new 16MB OTA update. My phone is encrypted, but the update went fine. The update clears the cache, so all app cache is being rebuilt on the first boot, but otherwise no data loss.

I found one observation.
When my p1a42 was on lollipop my WiFi used to switch to strongest signal automatically. So whenever I had two or more WiFi network system used to connect to strongest signal.

After marshmallow update my p1a42 connects to any WiFi network and then stays on it as long as possible even if much stronger network is available in vicinity.

Dear all, there is a new update for Lenovo P1a42: P1a42_S272_160506_ROW.
It is better than last one: fast and good for battery.

Every day I open this thread and my thirsty eyes dispirited. Without rooting this device one can't trench the possibilities hidden underneath.
Please guys make up root strategy for MM.

This phone is really really good, the best one i had since the start of the android era, and ive been using android phones since android 1.1.
But ROOT is really essential to make it worthy of long-term. I cant imagine what would make me get a new one for at least a few years, but again, without root I'll have to because its really getting slower and slower, and theres no need for that really..

transfer BETA-SuperSU-v2.72-20160510112018.zip to your sdcard first

and follow the steps

1.flash rawprogram0 (for users coming from p1c72 firmware only. p1a42 users may skip to step 3.)
2.restart and wait for the phone to set up the new firmware.
3.again flash rawprogram_unlock and restart
4.once again rawprogram_twrp and restart
5. now go into recover mode and you will get twrp 3.0 options.
6. flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.72-20160510112018.zip from twrp recovery and restart
you are ready.
