Hi all. New here, first post.

Just wanted to talk about my experience with this tablet receiving this new system update OTA (version 14.0.127). It was about 2 days ago. I woke up, & saw that the tablet must have updated itself overnight, and rebooted itself. I started using the tablet, thinking wow ... this is slick! I thought it was just a new version of ZUI, and just realizing lately that it's also on Android 12 now. Nice.

Problem I had though, was the Play store error (that others on here have been talking about). Clicking on the Play store would show a "error retrieving information from server df-dferh-01" error msg.

I had trouble trying to resolve this. Instead of using the internet looking for answers first, I tried clearing Play store cache and Google Play Services cache. Then I tried uninstalling them (but seems you can't). Then I bumbled around trying to download Play store APK's, and getting error msgs that some couldn't install. It was starting to become a confusing mess. I was too tired to fix the issue, so went to bed.

I'm not sure how I fixed this today, but I remember last, again clearing all data for both Google Play store app and Google Play Services. Then I went to Apps Management, clicked the 3 dots. Went to Google Basic Services, and turned that off! (I think that's key). Then I uninstalled Chrome browser. I was in Firefox browser on the play store page (trying to get Chrome again), and had to re-login to my Google account.

I'm not sure why or how, but clicking on Play store app on the tablet, suddenly started working again. I think after I re-enabled Google Basic Services.

I'm sorry I don't have a clear and concise answer to how I fixed the issue. But this was my experience. Hope it helps someone.

I've been reading through the old posts here, seeing how some of you were interested in getting/manually installing, this new update as far back as October 3 last year. I think that's pretty cool.

For me, I had no choice. It installed itself. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It's nice & pretty & slick ...until I use 2 things at once. Like if I try to use split-screen. One side is smooth, and the other shows some jerky choppiness. I don't remember the old version being like that. I notice it when I use Vanced Youtube, and press home key, & it becomes a picture-in-picture widget. So I'll be multi-tasking (with a YT vid playing in a widget), and I see the choppiness. But then again, sometimes with some apps, both sides are smooth (in splitscreen mode).

I read about PC Mode being removed, but that it still is there kind of, when plug into a tv/monitor. I'll be trying that later today.

This tablet is the best tablet I have ever owned. It powers along (it's fast), love the quad speakers, & the battery life has impressed me. I hope future updates, iron out issues :)

Alguém pode me ajudar?

The system updated itself on my tablet too. After a while I couldn't access the Play Store. I ended up resetting the tablet and now I can't connect my google account to it and I can't get it working again with all the forum tips. Can someone help me?

Go Setting > App Management. Then click the 3 - dot icon (...) > turn off and on the "google basic service".
You may try to clear data and cache of Google play service if it doesnt work

For all those who lost Google Play Store after the OTA upgrade (this assumed that you were on the Chinese Rom with locked bootloader to receive OTA update), I just want to share some findings with you. I faced the same issue and found out that the Play Store plugin on the Chinese app store didn't work coz it was incompatible and obviously outdated. The best approach I found was from the instruction to install play store for xiaoxin pad pro 2022. The links to get Google Play Store and Google Play Services apks from the instruction would be fine to follow but their link to Google Services Framework 12 is incorrect and it would take you to Framework 13 which is for Android 13+. You need Framework 12 for Android 12+.
For me, I wanted latest stuff so I installed the following in the same order as the listing below:
Google Play Store 34.0.12-21 [0] [PR] 500233025 (nodpi) (Android 5.0+)
Google Play services 22.50.14 (200400-499278674) (200400)
Google Services Framework 12 (Android 12+)
Note that I chose to install non-bundle apks because I don't know what the bundles are.
After doing the installations of those 3 apks, the Play Store app didn't show up on app screen because it wasn't enabled after installation. You just need to go into Settings and search for "Play Store" and enable it. It would then show up on your app screen. This issue might not happen to you but if you face problem, you can search for these 3 items in Settings and see their statuses.

Are there any Google Play Pass subscribers with the Xiaoxin 2021 Chinese ROM? I am and I can't seem to use apps that should be free with the sub. My daughter loves Duplo World and the Crayola game but in app purchase locks are preventing her from using them. Tried clearing cache and data but nothing works.

Me too. It is one of my primary reasons for using this tablet. When away from my work laptop, I can run the MS programmes without issue and the same way Windows would handle them. Losing PC Mode is a serious issue for me.

I also hate the new roll over menu (or notification panel, whatever you call it). The previous one was way better for the tablet, the new one seems to be made for a phone and then pushed on this tablet.

I advise you then to update to version "13.1.560" and stop there. Don't update further ( the next update is ZUI 14 ). I just stopped at 13.1.560 and it runs well, its got all the updates and patches from ZUI 13, including the nice Sidebar File manager ( which looks like windows file manager with categories on the left not at the bottom ) and most importantly PC mode works.

So for my tablet the update was automatically installed, but I wish it had not. So far my experiences have been negative.

- Google Play stopped working (as others have mentioned too)
- I managed to get it working again (thanks forum!) but cannot get it updated anymore
- Many apps also stopped working (e.g. Outlook, Teams), cannot even update or uninstall them
- The new notification menu is horrible, as if it was designed for a smartphone
- PC mode is gone, which I almost used daily

Anyone know if you can revert the update? In the meantime I will try some of the suggestions offered on the forum.

Ok Newbie Question.... (Sorry)
When I run QFiL and try to add the Build the I notice there is no firehose.elf file in the ROM that I downloaded from here. 2022102110943225-9609. The contents.xml file is also not there? DO I need to flash this differently to the instructions for the stock ROM? Thanks for you input!

I recently updated and everything seems fine for me. I had to re-enable Google Play Services and I don't miss PC Mode, but it was a nice feature. I didn't use it since the UI wasn't scalable.

Does anyone know how to remove recent apps from the dock? My most used apps are already in the dock so often times there are just doubles of the same icon. Not useful for me and it's an eyesore.

Thanks for the answer, but it did not help me (link is broken)
The issue was resolved as follows:
Went to settings, then apps. Click on the three dots at the top. There I chose google basic services. Turned off the switch. Tried launching chrome and logging in. There was a request to enable Google services. Then I went to the application settings and turned on google basic services. After that, I was successfully allowed into the account.

I took this chance to try ZUI 14, however there were definitely a lot of issues I've encountered.

It wasn't able to root, wi-fi gets broken, and other issues that were already mentioned here. [1](The Google Account issue that was mentioned here didn't happen to me, I got it first try.) I actually got TWRP to install in ZUI 14 (credit goes to @Ungeskriptet) however it had issues mounting the system partitions. This was the same issue that happened on Android 12-based GSIs on this tablet.

Though I'm actually curious that the update moved the whole OS to Slot B instead of staying in Slot A. The boot logo also changed to Qualcomm's logo instead of the usual Lenovo logo, as well as the unlocked bootloader message not showing up after.

There were two new bootloader options too, one being booting into FFBM mode.

In conclusion, stay away from this specific ZUI 14 update for now until there is news of a more stable update.

[1] I might have been lucky the first try I installed ZUI 14. Now on other reinstalls, they don't seem to work now.

Hmm is it worth losing PC mode on on the latest update? I'm sure it's still in there since it activates when using an external display but hopefully there is a solution (like an app perhaps?) that lets you switch to PC mode just like the Xiaomi Mi Pad
