I asked him and he told me that he stays in L3 with the global one, he still hasn't answered me how it would be with the Chinese ROM. Something I don't understand is that in the product title it says L1 widevine

Hi guys!

FIrst of all, when the XiaoXin Pad arrived to me, I saw on app DRM info that widevine is L3 and global rom... I changed the system to CN version (TB128FU_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00012.0_S_ZUI_13.5.365_ST_220526_qpst ) and widevine still was L3, so I have locked the tablet and it semi bricked the tablet. So after hours trying to return to normal, I unlocked the tablet again and QFIL the CN ROM again (TB128FU_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00012.0_S_ZUI_13.5.365_ST_220526_qpst ) and updated the CN ROM to latest version.

Normally the sellers change to Global ROM before send the device. If it arrived with CN ROM probably it already locked and updated to latest ROM. But if arrived with Global ROM the device is unlocked and you need to QFIL CN ROM (TB128FU_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00012.0_S_ZUI_13.5.365_ST_220526_qpst) and update to latest version before lock the device to L1 works.

Even if you order the Chinese version of Zui and the Chinese seller promises, they will most likely send you the global version with unlocked bootloader, you can't take their word for it!

everything works fine on zui if you follow the manual i posted to set up

To lock again the pad, you just need activate the debug USB and power off the device and go to fastboot mode and on cmd in computer you type:
1. fastboot devices (to see if your device is there)
2. fastboot flashing lock and select the option on your device and done.

ONLY LOCK IF YOU HAVE THE LATEST UPDATE IN ZUI (ZUI_13.5.476_ST).

I confirm this method works for me. L1 is available after flashing the CN then update to 476 and "fastboot flashing lock". Thanks bro

Fastboot command is not working for me. It shows "bootloader version unknown" on my tablet screen. How can I fix this?
Is there any other command I could try?

    Hmm that's interesting. I didn't know that Netflix will show L3 despite DRM Info showing L1. I haven't actually tested Netflix yet, will test it and let you know.

    I'm not willing to unlock bootloader and root just to test the BootloaderSpoofer module, as I bought this tablet purely to watch Netflix with L1.

    Do you know what firmware is safe to stay on (with locked bootloader) without losing L1? Will downgrading from the latest firmware back to XYZ version get L1 back? Bootloader is still locked, so I don't see why one would lose L1 just like that.


    UPDATE:

    OK I've just tested Netflix and I have L1, thank god. I'm just on stock ROM and locked bootloader, haven't done anything fancy to it. I did install Shizuku to use with Swift Backup and also using MacroDroid with its helper APK (which is built against an older Android SDK). This allows me to have access to certain root features without root, as I'll be able to use adb with the helper APK to get around things such as turning on airplane mode, etc.
