Just walked into a Best Buy, to look for a new case for my s3, I asked the rep for a specific case he searched it than asked for my account info to give me a 5 dollar off coupon. After I gave it to him, he said to me that my account was due an upgrade. I had him double check this buy logging into my account and than also searching it on his database (this is a new line, i haven't even made my first payment). It came back as upgrade eligible. My concern is what to do now? I don't want to get screwed in the end, has his happened to anyone else?

Btw if you search xda you will see some members reporting the same thing, also evo lte owners :) make sure you use the update wisely :)

Had this happen to me when I purchased a palm pre, I saved the upgrade for a year and bought the og evo. If i were you, id save the upgrade. I tend to want a new phone once a year or so.

Don't say anything to anyone (to late for that) and then save it for the next great phone.

I'm scared it will go away if I don't take advantage of it now though.

That's fair. You could always buy a new one, sell it slightly lower than retail and save the cash for your new phone next year. Perhaps invest the money in a startup that will take off in the next six months and multiply your money exponentially. Then you could be some sort of overnight millionaire and afford all the phones you want.

Not sure where i was going with that, other than say I'd sell the new in box one, you'll get more for it.
