Let's talk about newer batches (September/October)

Greetings everyone!
I want to talk about the Pocophone in their respective batches. I've been researching mainly about the issues that are present in the Pocophone. Many have said that there are issues regarding the screen (side of the screen latency, multi-touch, screen bleeding, etc.) are prominent. Some have said they have replaced their phones for at least thrice and the problem still persists. Some have also said that MIUI 10 fixed theirs, but some still have problems. Even installing custom ROMs proves ineffective. So it's safe to assume that some Pocophones have hardware issues and some do not.

From what I've read, August batch (The first batch released) has most of the problems. But I have no information regarding the people that bought a Pocophone with a manufacturing date from either September or October (The manufacturing date is located at the back of the box, written at the bottom right). You see, I've read an article implying that newer Pocophone batches does not have the issues. I want to make sure whether that is the case.

So I humbly request you people to please state which variant of the Pocophone you are using (6/64 GB, 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB)
and also the manufacturing date of your Pocophone. Also include if you encounter touchscreen issues.

You can try these to verify if your Poco has an issue:
1. Type "qu" as quick as you can. The result should be: quququququ and not quuquqquuquq. (You can use any keyboard as long as you're tapping a letter which is placed closely to the edge of the screen.)
2. Download the "Real Drum" application and try tapping the two "KICK" drums alternatively as fast as you can and make sure to stay at a constant beat to witness the delays. (Better observed when pressed at the sides).
3. Try installing a custom ROM or MIUI 10 and try these steps.

THANKS! :D

i try faster than i can [emoji23]
Now try to long press on q or p from very edge.
Then press from middle of q and p..
You will notice difference..
.
. @op : as per my testing on 10+ pocos, every device having this issue,ie right and left edges recognize touch after you lift finger.
But only fewer are detecting this because only few are used to type from edge.

I am pretty sure that bug was because of full screen gestures, I have an old batch version running los 16 and there is no such bug anymore.

It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Keyboard works fine after switching back to On-screen Navigation. It's the full-screen gestures interfering. (on MIUI 9.6.25)

Mine is 6/128 global version batch September 09/2018 and:
1. quququququququququququququququququququququququququququququq

quququququququuquqququququuqquququuqquuqquuququququqququququququuquqqu

(*with on screen buttons*
ququququququququququququququuquqququququququuqquuquqquququuqququququququququ
still the same.)

as you can see there is a touch delay on the edge of the screen sometimes but very slight.

2. Real drums taps lag when taping on the edge of the screen.

3. All these have been tested on my phone with MIUI 9 global stable and MIUI 10 developer from xiaomi.eu.

I have to say the issue appears to be smaller in the MIUI 10 developer, i will be trying the Android 9 developer soon and see if anything has changed.

July batch here, global, 6/64, black sapphire. I have all the problems, i.e. bleeding (mild though, I've seen people having worse) and touch lag.

For people who want to check the latency by quickly typing 'qu' or 'pr' - you must do it like REALLY fast. Almost immediately but just a millisecond earlier push q or p. I have yet to see a person prove on video that they don't have these issues. I don't mean to offend anyone but my belief is that every unit has it but not everybody can notice it. Could someone without touch issues kindly upload a video showing it? If some units indeed don't have it then I think it's safe to say we have a hardware issue on our hands.

Is it yours? If so, then thank you very much. :) Unfortunately, I can see that you have the latency issue as well. The keyboard produces 'uq' many times and Real Drum test also shows touch lag and inconsistency. :(
Yes, its mine and you are welcome. Well, like you said many doesn't notice this. It is ok for my eyes but i will do the same tests with my girlfriends Lg G4 and report back.

Mine is from July, the first batch. I bought it on France when it was released.

- slight Bleeding edge with gray background.
- I notice the problem on real drummer, but it never bothered me.

Despite everything, I don't regret my purchase.

Send from my Pcoochpoen F1... ho sh** :p

Can you or anyone provide a poco box photo with prod. date ?

I will respectful disagree and say that every Pocophone made until now have touch issue and screen bleeding. About screen, some are less proeminent and others more. But every Pocophone have it.

About touch, every Pocophone have exaclty the same issue. But some people are less capable to notice than others and that's about how you use the keyboard or what version do you have.

Hope that Xiaomi fix touch issue. Screen Bleeding is a hardware problem and it will never be fix even if you try to change it.

Here's my test.
One more thing even if we find faults in these tests is it even practical to type at these crazy speeds.
