Here's my test.
One more thing even if we find faults in these tests is it even practical to type at these crazy speeds.

And here's the real drums test

Thank you but please don't write 'qp' as both the left and right side of the screen has touch latency. You need to wirte either 'p' or 'q' with some other letter from the middle of the screen, e.g. 'pr' or 'qu' - just not both p and q as the latency is more or less the same in these letters' area. ;) The Real Drum test doesn't say much to me as I can't hear any sound and you should hit it more like in this video to notice the lag:

i bought the phone just 3 days back.

Its a 6GB/128Gb version. Sep batch.

There is no screen bleeding, luckily. But the touch latency/delay is terrible when fast typing, specially when using google keyboard.
The worst part is, I cannot return or exchange the device since this issue is not reproduce-able. Its kind of hit or a miss.

Any idea if it can be fixed by a software update?

Lol, its 100% reproducible, just try to touch on right or left edges of screen, touch get recognized after you lift finger.
And return this **** asap and get refund.
Try convince them comparing two devices while touching on edges.
Get moto or Nokia, those are better with Touch, don't go for huawei, same issue on honor 7x.
There very low chance that this get fully fixed.
One user on miui forum that he got test fix for this, but even if issue get fixed, there will be other side effects.

Thanks, but I am still skeptical whether they will accept the issue. Any app which you would suggest?

Bought on September 19th. Dunno when it was manufactured. Don't have lag issue. There's slight backlight bleeding at the bottom but it's totally ignorable and I have seen most devices with such bleeding.

Mine is made in January 2019. Honestly not so surprised it doesn't have any issues considering this phone is a year old, they would have had to fix the issues by now.

I bought mine in late April this year. Box says it was made somewhere around November of 2018, Made in India POCO variant/ (6/128). Guess what? The latency on the sides of the screen issue is there. Typing is downright annoying on this thing. Thank God the backlight is impeccable. Any bleeding and that would've bugged me even more.

Well, i bought Pocofone last week & it dont have any kind of issues like bleeding, touch or anything. The box says its manufactured in May 2019. It has NVT_ts display panel.

So if anyone is looking to buy poco now well go ahead and buy it. Just make sure your phone is manufactured in or after May 2019.
