@F.J.V obviously has spent a lot of time trying to help us out. That by itself should be honored at least, no matter the outcome. So I sent him a couple beers.
That display is only ~ 25€ on aliexpress from several vendors as far as I can tell. I can highly recommend @tsongming if he wants to help raise funds, really nice person who helps out even though he doesn't own the x722. :good:
Does anyone know if our batteries will need replacement? There is no way to charge the phone in EDL mode and the phone has been laying dead for months or in some cases over a year.
Dude, just donate a couple $$, don't be cheap and stop asking for ETAs for the qfil rom.

This won't work for most. The phone is a hard brick, no reaction to key, no vibration, black screen. Only when you connect it to a PC it'll recognize it as Qualcomm 9008...
Qualcomm's EDL mode doesn't require a battery, you can access it with the battery unplugged. But someone in this thread stated that the battery is slowly being drained and eventually killed over time if you don't take it out.
