sorry, i don't mean to criticize your method but...

if your eMMC is already dead or corrupted, how is this method gonna revive the note??
It sure isn't, since it isn't even a proper guide for the Note - see the references to factoryfs.rfs? NO Note release uses RFS - RFS hasn't been seen since the Hummingbird days, NO Exynos device uses RFS - so the file is factoryfs.img

Anyone having issues with factoryfs.rfs - duh, no wonder, you're flashing something not even meant for your device, of COURSE it's not going to work!

Thanks ! I have searched several other threads who got stuck at FACTORYFS.RFS
I overlooked and wrote it I will correct the thread.
But ....
How do you say that this wont work.
I have given references for people whom it worked.
My guide is incomplete as I have mentioned in the post. It has to be evolved.
All that I need from you guys is to correct this and release a way for coming out of this problem.

We are at a dead end now of replacing MOBO.

Whats the harm giving it a last try ??

I am not a great developer like you guys; but I wanted to think differently
You can delete this thread if I have posted something irrelavent or there is a different work around.

More than 15-20 are out there struck at FactoryFS.IMG flashing.
I am not one of them, but I want to solve it. It saves 200$ spending on the Mother Board

Just one more...

Hi, please, try to follow me.

Some minutes ago I flashed the N7000 with all files except PDA...

1. Pit file
2. Bootloader
3.
4. Modem
5. CSC

And everything went fine, the phone boot to galaxy logo, and then, I got the message:

With PDA checked, I got "factoryfs.img" freeze :(

Android system recovery, ...

reboot
apply update from SD card
wipe data/factory
wipe cache partition
test redbend fota

what next, I'm stuck, can I apply update from SD card, but HOW, can somone help me?

Best regards, Daniel

Once you are connected you are a "Soft Brick" now.

Thanks to Anonymous 572

Step Two - SOFT BRICKED USERS START HERE

IMPORTANT NOTE : Remove your SD Card and SIM CARD Please
Run ODIN IN ADMIN Mode

a) Now you have to repartition your Note
b) Download the following (Importantly the .pit file)

PIT: Q1_20110914_16GB.pit (Only for users with 16GB Internal SDCard) 32 GB users Please Google ur file.
PDA: CODE_N7000xxxxx_CL627135_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.m d5
PHONE: MODEM_N7000xxxxx_REV_05_CL1067428.tar.md5
CSC: GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-Oxxxxx.tar.md5

Thanks PrinceOMI & DuckBoot for the download links (PIT Files)
Stock ROM & Pit File Flashing Thread

c) Check these options: Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, and F. Reset Time.
d) Flash thru PC Odin (All the files, particularly the PIT file) -

When Step Two Fails
STUCK AT FACTORYFS

FACTORYFS FAILS - Looks like you messed up with root

FLASH THE ROOTED KJ4 kernel From PC ODIN - Kernel Link
TRY FLASHING THE STOCK ROM in PDA (One guy has suceeded) - Try the Oldest Stock ROM - KJ4 click me
Remember to Run ODIN in Admin mode (Right Click and Run even if you are an Admin)
Remove SD Card and Simcard.

Step 3
Lets Play with ADB Shell and do the repartition using Parted ...
PARTITION USING PARTED
HOW TO START PARTED ON YOUR Galaxy Note - Please read the post by Forest1971.

Please PM me when Step 2 Fails because Step 3 has to be evolved with you .... If you want to try yourself Link is Posted..

God Gimme Strength to Pull people out of this problem

All the Best !!! Please let me know if you are successful.

Waiting for Triangle Away to be released by ChainFire for LPY Roms. (Yes I flashed LPY even after I know there is a bug. I am the biggest fool down here ... coz I blindly have faith that I will have to recover from a super brick again by doing something or other.... Support me by sending in your comments ....)

Thanks to anilisanil for correcting the way to flash.

My Debacle
My Galaxy Note died 1.5 months back before Reinbeau posted the bug in the Emmc Driver.:(

What did I do ? (Googled a Lot; Shyed away from posting this forum thought I was too stupid among users who never bricked their phone until I read the Reinbeau thread on the bug; May be I was the first - March 30th 2012)
Prabhu, I have pasted details about my situation here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26275391&posted=1#post26275391

Basically, I get stuck at "Factoryfs" when I try to flash any LPY, LPF or an odexed LA6. I am downloading the stock EU ROM and will try flashing it, but in the meantime, would you say that I am already at step two, as I can get to downloading mode?

Edit: I extracted the zimage file from the CF kernel you linked to, and created a zImage.tar. I tried flashing it under "PDA" in Odin 1.85, but it does not flash.

Could you help with the next steps? I am just extra cautious now.

Dear All Bricked Users,

Now as in my first post, step 3 is being evolved but complicated at the moment, we have to try discussing with other devs for a workaround solution. Keep Patience .....

dont get it...

i`ve brought bakc my device from the dead last friday and some post like this gave me the crucial ideas about what to try, will post all the details later, so i dont get why some people can vote "don`t waster your time" for threads like this one, every senior professional was a noobie someday and felt the horrible adrenaline injection when the phone got stuck in some screen, every help is welcome...the most important thing u need to learn before start to flash roms is READ, READ and after, READ again, if smth happens it is bad luck or noobiness:)

u can add my case as the 4th one, will edit this post later at home with details.

thanks for bringing this up

Vivek

Pls brief about how u got bricked.
If you are not stuck at factoryfs.img then ur case is easy to solve.

Donot panic. . Just wait as devs like Forest1971 are on job for a safe workaround.

But you may have to wait before trying something that will jeopardise the situation.

Try to boot into recovery mode and flash LPF package (including PIT, Bootloader,..) via Odin, and remember : TURN OFF any antivirus or firewall or anything that is running on your PC.
