Hi All

Just a FYI for anyone running planning to unlock their bootloader, install twrp, root... if you're like me you set up everything and then the bootloader unlock was released... I backed up with LG Backup and have been trying to restore for at least an hour now. the LG Backup app gives me Unfortunately LG Backup has Stopped regardless of if the file is on SD or Internal Storage.

I downloaded LG Bridge to try to force the file from the desktop, and it stops and tells me the file is corrupt.

Hopefully everyone has better luck than I did... at least I haven't had the phone long enough to be too pissed about losing data.

If anyone has suggestions they are welcome but this was more of a PSA.

I used it somewhat successfully. Took way too long at one point, so I did a battery pull.

LG Backup worked pretty great for me. Only the system apps needed some re-doing (logins, etc.) Also didn't save WiFi or BT info - kind of stupid.

Mine was stuck on personal data, which was only 25mb, yet was moving only 1% per hour or so.

I wish I had made it that far, LG Backup always gets stuck for me too, and then it finally goes through. But this time it looks like the .lgf file that LG backup uses was corrupt, and like a dumbass I didn't back it up twice like I normally do. I reseearched multiple ways to try and install it but google is full of mostly threads with people asking questions without answers... so thankfully it's only been a few days and if I want I can pull the backup from my G3... but I think I'm going to just start fresh. Who knows maybe it's a blessing. I'll get my contacts and stuff from google but... I did find out that the LG G4 PC suite recognizes and would work to manually install the restore file if the file itself wasn't damaged...
