Does Skype still break V4A? One reason I gave up on the N5 is that it sounds like crap without V4A running but every time I used Skype it was like the driver quit on me. Didn't matter where it was installed, either. Tried /system/app and /system/priv-app, same result.
If I may ask, what settings did you use with V4A (I realize it's comprehensive as hell and there's a lot of variables, sorry)? I had it up and running at one point on my S3 but when I hopped ROMs and tried it again, I couldn't get anything nailed down to where I liked it more than stock (w/o V4A).

I used no settings. I just installed the driver, enabled it, and then gave it a gain boost (the N5 had a quiet output). I'm not at all a fan of coloring the sound via software, so I just wanted the improved driver. I didn't actually use the FX app at all aside from the enable setting.

I'm driving Beyerdynamics Custom One Pros and I don't see any issue with the earphone jack or volume. I typically don't tend to crank the volume up that much because all of my headphones/earphones isolate pretty well.

Xiaomi Earphones Great buy

well i just received these from amazon and wow there great. Quick review...the build quality is really good. metal housing for the buds and the volume control. braided cable. sounds really good with nice amount of bass. and my favorite part of all is that the volume control actually works with android phones. tried it on my g3 and my s4...good call @SomeGuyDude

Makes me really happy to hear this. Are they heavy since they're made of metal? I use ear buds mostly for the gym or runs in the park.

yea, the volume is definitely low with my girls beats plugged in earbugs on my G3 compared to her S4, to the point that when she listened she asked me to turn it up and it was at max level. I don't personally use/like plugged in headphones, i use the beats wireless studios and the powerbeats 2 wireless and the volume sounds lower than my Nexus5, but all is well when i set up viper4.

Anyone knows if the Xiaomi Piston 2 will be a massive improvement over the Monoprice 9927 (which I currently own)?

edit: also are these original or fake? Instinct tells me they're fake.

edit 2: I think I found two sellers of the original ones. ibuygou and Xiaomiworld

You must have some insanely sensitive ears because every single review has noted that the G3's headphone output is fairly low volume.
Sensitivity, sensitivity.

Rocking my Soundmagic E18. Most everything I listen to with Spotify, the volume is about 1/3 total level. Man do strings and winds sound striking!
