LG G3 OEM Slim Guard Case - My Review

It does offer protection, I tested it today. It fell on a rock on its edge and there's only a little dent on the gray rubber

It all depends how the phone lands. It can brake down, but also maybe it wont. You cant be sure 100% with any case.
To me this is the best case because it is minimal and it feels like there is no case.

I received the Slim Guard case today and am really pleased with it. I'd read some reviews which said it was creaky and not brilliant, so it was nice to find it better than I was expecting. IMO it gives the G3 a nicer shape and makes it very slightly chunkier which suits my taste. I have the black G3 so ordered a black Slim Guard case. It suits the phone really well.

Totally Agree!！！

I don't understand why case makers don't take this cue from LG make replacement back covers that also act as a protective case. I'm hoping this gets released stateside. I have a feeling it won't, though, because LG doesn't have the best product support history from my experience. I was looking to get either this or the Slim Hard case. At this point, I just need anything to cover the back because this is the most ridiculously slippery phone I've ever had.

I agree...EXCELLENT review! I am impatiently waiting for this US version case. This sounds like the perfect case for my preferences. Something extremely slim with better grip than naked along with not messing with the lines of the phone. :good::good::good:

Now if LG would just get the accessories rolling...I also need another battery and external charger.

I ordered this case from mytrendyphone.com. I read the other thread about that website on XDA any nd their reviews at trustpilot.com and it seemed like a pretty legit company. After waiting 2 weeks, my package finally arrived. It was the wrong product. Not even close, it was a screen protector for a different phone. Still no Slim Guard case for me... :crying: I'm pretty sure it was imported, and if so I was lied to during a live chat with mytrendyphone. Their website is constantly lagging and returning bad gateway errors. Customer service is supposed to be open mon-fri but it has been down all day, both live chat and by phone.

I hope the returns process isn't as difficult as the purchasing process was. I doubt this is a scam website, but I figured it would be kind of me to warn you all about my experience given that they are one of the only places to purchase this case with a supposed USA delivery option.

If anyone else can help me find one in the U.S. please let me know!

Absolutely no luck at all. After the story above I tried to ask them for a replacement and sent them a picture of the wrong product they sent me. They took a long time to email me back, and when they finally did they said I would have to ship the wrong product back to them and cover the cost of shipping! I went to paypal and contested the charge and told the story, paypal refunded my money and I threw away the stupid screen protector they sent me. I never heard back from them. They never replied to the paypal dispute. I ordered one from fonejoy on ebay. It shipped extremely fast for an international shipment (UK to the US in like 4 business days!)

Lesson is, you really shouldn't but if you do risk it with mytrendyphone use paypal, or a credit card with buyer protection. If fonejoy is selling them on ebay currently, use fonejoy!

I just ordered this case in black through MyTrendyPhone for $35 which looks to be the cheapest price right now. Expansys has them but for a $10-15 more depending on color. If there are any problems with my order I'll take it up with PayPal and get my money back. They always do right by the buyer

I'm looking for a cheaper solution which you just exchange with back cover from G3 (like official slim guard) but I can't find anything from ebay

others have complained of this issue. I think they used a few strips of tape adhered carefully to the back and it tightened things up.

How long does it take on average to receive an order from expansys? It says its in stock?

I am also finding the lg cch320g slim guard case on mytrendyphone.com but their website is acting really slow. They said free shipping would arrive in 7-10 days from new york.

Avoid mytrendyphone.com like the the plague. I gave this company the benefit of the doubt and ordered the Slim Guard case through them. A week after placing the order I called their office to get an update. I was told by two associates that there was no record of my order even though funds had already been deducted from my account. I was told to wait 24 hours for a response from their supervisor-I gave them 48 hours and received no response. I called them again and was told by the same female associate that her supervisor was out of the office. At this point, I called up PayPal and opened a case. PayPal, as always, came through and retrieved my money. This company is very shady. If you must see for yourself, I would suggest buying through PayPal or with a credit card so you have purchase protection.

FYI to anyone looking for this case. I ordered from Amazon.de on March 2nd and received it on March 13th. Cost me $38 with shipping. You just have to make sure you choose Amazon as the seller and I used Google translate with my phone to help me figure out what to click.

Easy to take off?

I have a spare battery that I swap regularly. My question is how easy/hard is it to remove this case to access the back?

I also have a spare battery and change it from time to time. Easy to remove. I find it easier to insert the case by putting a business card or a credit card between the top edge and the case, then pushing the case in place and removing the card. Quite pleased with the case.
