LG G3 OEM Slim Guard Case - My Review

So... slight update. I did drop my phone quite a few times and the case worked a treat, with absolutely no damage to the handset. The only result was very slight cosmetic scratches to one corner of the case ; this was after quite a high fall onto pavement, when the phone fell from my jacket pocket. After using the case for some time, I actually started treating my phone as if it was some kind of G-Shock variant, so confident was I in the protection afforded by the bumper.

But, me being an idiot, I bricked my G3 while trying to root in haste the other day, and have since had to sell it to a recycling firm. I'm therefore selling my case, which I don't believe is available any longer in the UK. I know the community rules forbid selling, and I really hope I'm not breaking them by mentioning this, but I've been keeping up with this thread and know that people are struggling to find these cases any more. A quick ebay search for 'lg g3 slim guard case (oem)' and you can pick mine up.

On a side note, since bricking the G3 I've picked up a 64Gb OnePlus One, and so far am VERY impressed. I've only had it for a fortnight or so, so I know there's plenty of time for the lag and issues to creep in, but at this stage I prefer it to the LG. CM12 is great, and as a first time user of the ROM I can see why people like it so much. Not sure I prefer it to Paranoid Android yet, but it's infinitely preferably and aesthetically much more appealing than LG's software. The handset is fractionally larger, but the G3 was massive anyway, and I've found the Diztronic TPU case to be fantastic, 2nd only to the slim guard in cases I've used to date. Off topic, but hey - great phone!

I have the international version and personally am not liking it as it doesn't seem to fit that we'll on the sides . I'm using a supercase and its much better . so am not using mine .

I bought the slim guard case and initially I thought it was awesome since it's slim and protects all sides, and fits well.
However, after a few weeks of usage, there were multiple scratches and air bubble-like pops on the back. I presume it's the outermost layer of coating peeling from the inner material. The bubbles make the cover look less premium and less sleek and more flawed. However overall it's still a good cover, though I think i'll be changing to another case (S-line case) since i ordered it online.

Gotta say after using the slim guard more than a year and having none of that, you make it sound like you may have received a counterfeit.

i'm pretty sure it's the original since it has the authentic sticker from LG and everything. I think it's just the oleophobic layer peeling after some scratches to it. Nothing major though, only small cosmetic flaws

I ordered mine from expansys and I can vouch for the "air bubble-like pops" on the back. These accumulated over time from normal wear

They're kind of hard to spot in photo but they're there and very noticeable in person.
